The view of the Douro River from the second floor 2-bedroom, 1.5 bath apt was outstanding. It was remarkable to see the changing light as the sun rose and set, and one afternoon the fog rolled in, up the river and it was an amazing site. From the back of the villa we could see the action on the street, and people gathering along the wall to watch the sunset. All of the windows open wide and the breeze was wonderful. The location was excellent: walking distance to many sites, several restaurants were right outside the door, along with several markets so that we could easily get essentials and other items. We left behind some equipment and the hosts immediately contacted us and made arrangements for us to retrieve it several days later when we returned to Porto from visiting other areas.

The stairs to the second floor are no joke! Floors start at zero (rather than one where we are from) so it was about 4 flights up to the apt. But we knew that going in so it was great exercise. It would have been wonderful to have a small balcony/outside area to sit.

The location was perfect, with a stunning view of the Douro River directly from the apartment. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed, including a washing machine and effective air conditioning, which was especially welcome in the hot weather. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had all the necessities, and the Wi-Fi was reliable. Despite being on a lively street, the apartment itself was quiet. There were some really amazing restaurants nearby, and the main sights and riverfront were reasonably easy to reach on foot. The staff were super friendly, very responsive to messages, and gave us lots of great local recommendations. Check-in was also fairly straightforward, with detailed instructions provided.

There are a few stairs to get to the apartment, which could be worth keeping in mind if you have heavy luggage or mobility difficulties. The apartment was fairly clean, although there was a little room for improvement in this area.

Not clean- filthy windows which we had to clean ourselves, dirty sofa. Not warm- the air conditioners did not work properly.Lack of basics in the kitchen and bathroom such as w- up liquid, salt pepper.soap etc.
