Logis Hôtel Du Château - Combourg, Proche Saint-Malo

We liked everything. Location, room, dining room, breakfast, good garage for bike storage.

There was not much to not like about the property. The young woman who checked us in must have been very new as she was a little uncertain about hotel policies. This will come with experience.

The bed was very comfortable and we paid for a junior suite so we had plenty of room for our toddler.

Sadly, there was no travel cot available for our little boy, even though we had requested one when making our original booking. Although this wasn’t directly the hotel’s fault (as the single cot they had had been taken away from the hotel by another guest), they should have had a backup available. They also only had one highchair at breakfast, which was already in use by another family. I would strongly recommend that they invest in additional cots and highchairs so they are better prepared for more than one baby or toddler staying at the same time. Breakfast was also disappointing. Our family has stayed at this hotel many times over the past 15–20 years, and there has always been a generous spread in previous years—plenty of cheeses, pastries, meats, yoghurts, and more. Unfortunately, the selection this time was noticeably reduced. The cheese and meat portions were very small (everything was cut into small cubes), I only saw one type of yoghurt (plain), and the bread options were limited. Breakfast was also served in the main restaurant rather than the back room, which led to long queues and very little space to move around. This was particularly concerning as guests were carrying hot drinks while navigating around partially disabled guests and small children.

Location was excellent a lovely town with plenty of shops and resturants, lots of history around a lovely lake

The hotel gave us a room which was at the back of the hotel which was on the second floor. The room was cold and dark we asked to change rooms, and was moved to a room with a view. This hotel has no elevator

Location was excellent. The bathroom was large and well equipped.

There were no drink making facilities in the room. The top floor room had limited headroom due to the sloping roof. The twin beds were very narrow. We parked 2 motorcycles in the garage and were charged for 2 vehicles whilst only taking up about one car space.
