Great location, the hotel is like a lovely oasis. We very much appreciated an upgrade to a pool view room. All staff we encountered were friendly and cheerful. Laundry service is reasonably priced in EGP, we paid less than the equivalent of 10 USD for two bags full of laundry, received it back the next day not just washed and folded but also ironed.
Nothing.

The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. It was very close to the loading of the ships and the views of the Nile were awesome.
It’s a dated property that can use some refreshing.

Very communicative staff, which was great. Lovely, in fact. We were only there for a few hours, having arrived late at night with an early pick-up for Abu Simbel at 4am. They made us breakfast to go and were really nice and attentive.
The sheets were very "pilly" so not very comfortable. Its really a no-frills type of place - you are there for the sites, not the hotel. Don't count on a wake-up call - we never got ours! (but who even does those anymore? - they offered it....)

"Das Obelisk Hotel ist ein wunderschönes Mittelklassehotel. Wir waren in Nile-View-Zimmer. Die Zimmer waren in einem sehr guten Zustand, der Pool ist ideal sich abzukühlen. Die Lage perfekt."
