The location is ideal if you’re exploring the nearby nature reserves — Minsmere, Dunwich Heath, Walberswick and beyond. Dunwich Village sits right at the heart of it all and is a beautiful, quiet and restful place in its own right.
I’d also like to thank Darcy for making both Kate and me feel so genuinely welcome. We were both very impressed with her and the rest of the staff. The food was excellent too.
For me, it is a perfect place to stay it is a bit rustic, but I dont view that as a negative. The staff do sometimes leave the bar unattended for a bit too long at times. BUT that is not a dig as they have a lot going on, but it might be something to watch.

The location of course - by the beach - the Ship is very comfortable and welcoming and the staff are too. The staff were totally professional yet easy going and friendly - going the extra mile. Evening meal was lovely and the breakfast was superb - try the kippers!
Nothing really.

Easy parking close to room. Great location for beach and walks. Old fashioned charm.
Reception was very annoying as we had to give card details even though we had already paid in advance. Difficulty in producing an invoice on check out.
The room was disappointing for the amount paid. It was small and sparsely furnished.
Dinner was very ordinary and highly priced.
