I got a room which was not directly facing the street so it was good to sleep. I really have appreciated blinds in front of the window because I like to have it dark during the night.

The room I got was directly over the kitchen. It depends on you if you like that scent of kitchen smell.

Location.also Miguel Angel was very attentive and had good suggestions.

Great countryside view from the room with big windows. Loved the location just *outside the touristic center (but still easily walkable). Friendly host who found me a corkscrew for my wine :)

It's not on the busiest road in town but sometimes loud motorcycles go by. A group sat smoking on the front stoop below, but if you close the windows it's not too much noise or smell. A water kettle in the room would be nice.

The hotel is well situated for access to the Old Town. It was delightfully presented in its decor and rooms. Although our room ws small it didn't seem so and felt very comfortable. The host was very helpful despite the language gap.

No meals were available at the hotel, but the recommendations from the host were excellent.

We really appreciated that our request was fulfilled- a room with large window (doors to Juliet balcony), lots of light and view. The room was very clean and well maintained. The hosts were welcoming despite the language difference. The hostería is not in the old town but very nearby.

We would have loved access to a coffee/tea station in the room or in the hostería.

Kind and helpful host with many excellent tips. Very comfortable & warm bed. 2 mins from the historic centre of Santillana, very close to Altamira. Good price to quality ratio.

This is a nice Hostería in an attractive tourist location. The historic town centre of Santillana del Mar and restaurants are within walking distance; the Altamira site and museum are just a short drive away. We had a spacious room for three which was very clean and comfortable. There is no lounge or breakfast in the hotel, but many eateries can be found nearby. The member of staff who received us was very friendly. Communication - in Spanish only - worked out fine. We had found a space to park on the street and did not have to ask for help. The hotel is on a main road, but our room was very quiet. We travelled in August, and the entire region was very busy with Spanish holidaymakers. We had not made an online booking for the replica Altamira cave and therefore queued up with mostly Spanish tourists at 8.30am on Sunday morning; we were able to get tickets on the day (no charge, opens at 9.30am). The Hostería was a good starting point for this undertaking.
