Nice hotel, has a really big territory with a lot of beautiful plants, trees and green zones, I also liked a fish pond. Staff was polite and helpful. Room was a little bit old, but tidy enough and it was cleaned every day.

Breakfast could be better - not much variety of drinks and food, not everything was tasty. But overall - quite pleasant experience for it's price.

I stayed in Casa Florida Hotel & Spa for the duration 13-21 May 2023. 1. The property is beautiful, rooms are spacious and well organized. 2. Supermarket, restaurants, bus/taxi stand, public beach are all within 2-10 mins walk. 3. Reception is closed between 23:00-07:30, but the keys to the room, wifi and breakfast details are provided in a sealed envelope if you arrive during the time when reception is closed. 4. My request for late check out was accepted (but only as a 'compensation' to have lived in a stinking room for 1 week)

1. Tea kettle/cups/glasses are provided in the room, but no drinking water. No room service is provided. They don't clean the used cups/glasses provided in the room. On booking.com, its mentioned on the contrary. 2. You have to drop laundry at the reception, they don't pick it from the room. They charge MRU 50 for washing & ironing per garment, but return the garment without ironing. They don't tell you they have a washing machine that guests can use free of cost (detergent to be paid) until you discover it yourself. 3. There is a bar at reception, you can buy water there. But be ready to die thirsty if you arrive between 23:00-07:30. 4. Breakfast is the same everyday. They had 'special' Indian breakfast for non-Mauritian Indians, which was very oily & mostly it was leftover food with a new garnish. The dining area is open with birds poking into your b'fast the moment you move your eye from your plate. 5. There are no placard provided to indicate 'do not disturb', 'clean my room', etc. Deal with your own mess. 6. There are lizards, cockroaches, ants & mosquitoes in the room. 7. Receptionists are very rude & inconsiderate, restaurant servers are polite though. Kantee, the manager does a lot of sweet talk, but does not provide any solution. She simply transfers the blame to her staff & management. She also has the audacity to make racist remarks in an attempt to prove herself right. At some point, I stopped complaining coz I didn't want to be reprimanded more. 8. The toilet attached to the room was stinking badly all through the time. Despite complaining on day 2, Kantee only changed my room on my last day when the stink came up to the bedroom & I forced her to come and experience the terrible smell. 9. If by chance you fall sick, the hotel does not extend any courtesy to check on you or to ask if you need a Doctor. Feel free to die alone in the room. 10. Wifi sucks.

They dont have shuttle bus or taxi service from airport. Also, I had to get my own taxi when I checked out

My room was quite outdated

The location of the property was good and the staff were ok. There was a supermarket a few minutes walk away.

The property was definitely not recently refurbished but was comfortable and the breakfast was a bit hit and miss. There was an unusual smell from the cleaning products that lingered in the property which might be a problem for someone with asthma.
