Les Hauts de Loire Relais & Châteaux

Location. Staff, food

Not enough time to enjoy spa.

Beautiful grounds, great food, lovely staff

The room #27, was spacious with a large sitting area and balcony. The bathroom has two sinks and a nice shower and tub. We particularly liked the outdoor sitting areas; we would take our unfinished bottle of wine from the dinner the night before and enjoy nature while we finished the bottle. We also like the nature trails. The food was excellent, especially for breakfast and at the Bistro. The price fixed menu at the gourmet dining room was interesting and novel to us - a lot of unusual dishes but served brilliantly.

The bistro should be open more days of the week and for lunch. We also felt that there should be more variety in the menu at the gourmet restaurant.

The grounds and the pool

Uncomfortable bed, awful pillows and scratchy sheets. Also, cold tiled floor in room with no rug
