Comfortable rooms and an outdoor onsen. The meals were also good, and the staff were very accommodating. Without meaning to, we ended up going to Kurokawa at the same time as a festival was happening, and the staff gave us raffle tickets for free at check-in!

Everything about this place was wonderful. The room was large, clean and comfortable. We had an outlook over the trees as we had our morning cuppa in our room. So quiet and peaceful. The onsen bath was really lovely especially the outdoor. We went to a couple of others in the village and this one was the best. The staff were gorgeous - so polite and attentive. Location was great - just a short walk to the village (quite steep to return). And yes, the road is quite tight and narrow but ok with our Corolla. Food - an absolute highlight! Dinner and breakfast wonderful. Michelin quality. First class ingredients and presentation was superb. An outstanding place to stay and highly recommended.

The pillows were horrible. Probably the worst I’ve ever slept on. But more than made up by the positives of the property!

We arrived on a cold raining day, the room was ready with heater on when we checked in, which was warm and thoughtful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The beautiful little Japanese garden in front of the window/sliding door gave the tranquility and peaceful ambience. Meals were great and delicious. Staffs were friendly.

We requested a pick up from the bus stop, and we confirmed with the hotel of our arrival time, however, no one showed up. Fortunately, there were another young Japanese coupl still at the bus stop, and they were very nice and helped us to call the hotel. Finally,, after 20 mins wait our ride finally came. It wasn't too much fun to wait in a cold and rainy day.
