I liked so many things about Lago Argentino.The location was excellent-a short walk to the centre.Sleep quality was top class and the room was clean and serviced daily.What I liked the most was the host Eugenio.This lovely man,as soon as I arrived,organised a trip to the Perito Moreno glacier,a trip to El Chaltén and the return trip to the airport...Truly one of the nicest people I've met in all my travels....Stay at Lago Argentino Hostal....Top marks to Eugenio and Paloma....10 out of 10.

it is a cute property that is a nice place to rest your head for the night. the staff and service are amazing. beds were firm which is great. there is a bakery/panaderia next door!

the rooms are a bit old and there’s carpeting, but it’s clean. the water was finicky but I think that’s normal for the town.

It would be nice to have earlier breakfast with more choice. Some eggs or cheese. The shower curtain could do with a wash

Breakfast was very minimal, very little supplied, no eggs, coffee, yogurt. one tiny croissant and one piece of fruit per person. Not close to town and the walk home after dark didn’t feel very safe. private rooms located across the road with no security. anyone could come into the area.

The husband and wife who run Lago Argentino are wonderful and will bend over backwards to help you with anything and everything!

Our private room was so small that it was difficult to find space for our things. The bathroom was equally small and it wasn’t ventilated, so the entire bathroom got soaked whenever we used the shower. Overall, we felt like the facilities weren’t in line with the price.

Eugene and his wife were the most gracious hosts, very helpful with the Argentinan money process so we were prepared when we arrived. They also suggested tours!!

Rooms were colourful and quirky in a beautiful garden. Really close to the main drag so perfect location. Eugene was incredibly helpful and gave us lots of useful info that helped with our whole trip!!

a great little hostel. the garden by the rooms was a real bonus with lovely flowers and a grassy area to lounge about. the hostel is just up the road behind the main street. the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location was within walking distance to everything, the space was cosy and quiet, great breakfast and the hosts were very sweet and super helpful. We would 100% stay here again!

Very central location. Exceptionally friendly and helpful owners. Beautiful facilities, fully equipped. My overall experience was fantastic and the value for money in El Calafate is probably amongst the best.

Isolation of the doors and windows of the external rooms. Not really a problem, however in order to save on the heating this would have a big impact.

Great value in El Calafate, stayed here before and after our trip to Torres del Paine, close to centre/main road, short 5 min taxi from bus station (~$2), clean room/bathroom, heater.

Excellent value for money: rooms with private bathroom at affordable rates, something which is hard to find in El Calafate. Very friendly owner, who gives great tips for alternative excursions on and near El Calafate. The hostel is centrally located near the main street. Very clean. Breakfast included and common kitchen.
