Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok

The staff are among the warmest and most welcoming I've ever met, and ever ready to help. Truly the outstanding feature of this hotel. Very comfortable beds and kept very clean by housekeeping (hotel was generally spick and span). Nice gym if that's important for you in a hotel (I used it every day!), along with a rooftop pool complete with bar. Great breakfast! The Hilton is also in an excellent location, with 3 very large malls well within walking distance and the Phrom Phong BTS station which basically connects you to most of the main attractions in BKK. If you like massages, there are plenty of professional options nearby.

Little niggly things like a shower mixer (tap) that wasn't working properly with inconsistent pressure and temperature control; a room safe that only worked some of the time (hotel said they checked, so I guess this was repairman's syndrome), and a TV that similarly had trouble finding some channels sometimes (maybe it was the heavy rain and floods over the weekend I was there, maybe). Minor annoyances you would/should not expect from a Hilton. My score would have been 9 or even 10 if not for these issues.

Wir waren mit unserem Aufenthalt im Hilton Bangkok Sukhumvit sehr zufrieden. Besonders positiv aufgefallen ist uns die Sauberkeit der Zimmer – alles war sehr gepflegt und sauber. Auch das gesamte Personal war sehr nett, freundlich und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und bot eine gute und abwechslungsreiche Auswahl. Besonders gut hat uns auch das Abendessen im Restaurant Scalini gefallen. Das Essen dort war hervorragend und wir haben den Abend sehr genossen. Alles in allem hatten wir einen schönen Aufenthalt.

Die Zimmer waren zwar sehr sauber und gepflegt, allerdings deutlich in die Jahre gekommen und teilweise stark abgenutzt. Eine Renovierung bzw. Modernisierung der Zimmer wäre aus unserer Sicht wünschenswert.

The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable, with an excellent shower and plenty of room for our family. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location is another major positive. It’s very central, with BTS Phrom Phong, Emporium, EmQuartier and plenty of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance, which made getting around Bangkok very convenient. The pool area is nice and well maintained, although the pool itself is relatively small. The gym isn’t particularly large or extensive, but it has all the basics needed for a decent workout.

The biggest disappointment was the bed, which was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The staff were helpful and genuinely tried their best to resolve the issue by adding a mattress topper, which we appreciated, but unfortunately it didn’t make much difference. It made getting a good night’s sleep difficult and was easily the worst part of the stay. The hotel also really lacks atmosphere. Despite being busy and having plenty of guests staying there, there doesn’t seem to be anywhere people actually want to spend time. There was no music around the pool, and when we went to the lobby bar at around 6 pm, we were the only people there. It felt completely dead. For a hotel in such a busy, central Bangkok location, I expected much more of a social atmosphere or somewhere comfortable to sit, have a drink and enjoy the hotel. Instead, it felt more like somewhere people simply sleep and then leave. Overall, the hotel just lacks a bit of soul and personality. The breakfast buffet was okay, with a reasonable selection, but for a hotel at this level it didn’t really impress us or stand out in any way.
