Silk Road Lodge

Good location and very kind and helpful staff. The food in the restaurant in the hotel was excellent and would recommed it.

The rooms are a little outdated and could need some updating, specially the carpet in the rooms needs to be changed.

The breakfast spread is good with selection.

Room alittle old..

Svetna at the front desk was very helpful, friendly, and courteous. The room was clean and cozy, although carpet is due for replacement (but they provide slippers). Great breakfast.

The hotel is conveniently located. A relatively short walk past the monument to Kirghiz strongman Baatyr Kozhomkul leads to the central Ala Too Square from which other attractions can be reached. A cafe offering Internet access (through a laptop rather than just Wi-Fi) is connected to the property.

The hotel is that type of building through which sound travels. I did not sleep until the early hours on the first night because of the workings of the lift and other guests opening and closing their doors with traditional keys and locks. Despite already having paid for three nights, I seriously considered changing hotel on the second day but eventually decided to give it another chance. Fortunately I made the right decision as the problems did not persist (probably because the hotel was no longer full.)
