Hotel du Rempart

The situation is brilliant and the terrace restaurant is a major plus. It is rare to find a 4-course meal for €27 in such a popular place.

Even though I had reserved a table, outside if the weather permitted, 7 weeks beforehand, they had no record of my request.

Schlaffzimmer ok. Restaurant besonders gut und reichlich und vesrschiedenartig. Die Möglichkheit die Schlüssel zu bekommen zwischen 12 und 13 Uhr.

Die Shlafzimmer war nicht bereit wenn wir angekommen sind um 12h30.

A fabulous looking place perched on a hill with fabulous views and a lovely area to sit out and watch the sunset. Easy (free) parking close by. Staff were all very helpful, attentive, and friendly and the food (evening meal) was very good. We didn’t have breakfast there. The wine recommendation was excellent - a really good bottle of Sancerre (of course!) An odd mix of styles and eras perhaps - a modern sports bar alongside a lovely more classic wine bar and bedrooms which in some areas haven’t been touched for years. All very clean and we had a super comfy bed so no complaints but the bathroom was stuck back in times gone by! Maybe a little investment in the rooms and bathrooms wouldn’t go amiss but it did not spoil our stay and was even perhaps some of the charm!

It’s not that we didn’t ins it but the room and bathroom could do with a refresh and an upgrade.

The terrace of the hotel provided a very pleasant outdoor dining ambience. The host and staff did their best to provide a good service.

The location of the double room was very prone to noise from the traffic as it faced a 3-cornered junction. The bed was very bad for the back. All in all, we didn't have much rest for the night.
