Leo hotel was absolutely superb, with excellent breakfast in the café, freshly made orange juice and deliciously light omelets and fresh fruit. The rooms were spacious, lovely decorated, each in its own way.

There is nothing we didn’t like and it was no problem for us, but for some it may be useful to know that you need to be able to walk the stairs, there is no elevator.

Gorgeous 15th century architecture, high ceilings, beautifully appointed with chandeliers and mirrors and dark wood furniture. The location over a tiny alley covered with flowers is convenient to everything in the old town by walking, and it was so enjoyable to sit on the balcony overlooking the streets in the cool of the evening. The receptionist made excellent recommendations and helped us keep our room for an additional night. It's only 10 minutes to the beach and we enjoyed parasailing and swimming before coming back to our comfortable rooms and showering clean. The complimentary breakfast was delightful, with fruit perfectly fresh and in season. Staying at the Hotel Leo absolutely made our visit to Rethymno unforgettable.

Although we used the filter for available car parking be warned the parking is not close by and you can’t get close with a car. Also no tea or coffee in the room although there was a kettle and cups! Staff said it was due to covid yet everywhere else we stayed did have these facilities.

Cracking location - the owner was lovely, all the staff were so friendly.

Amazing refurbishing of an original mansion. Fabulous room (#204) with sky-high ceilings, 2 balconies, walls of stone, good air-con, comfortable bed, ensuite with bath tub. The two sisters who owned and managed the house were incredibly kind and helpful.

Water pressure is a bit low, but you can expect this with a historic building. Not a problem.

There could not be a better location, in the city center. Helena the manager is lovely, the room is big and clean, the breakfast can be improved a bit.

Location is near everything you'd want to see in the old town. Having a balcony was so pleasant.

While other reviewers mention the stairs, I think for getting to stay in a venetian home it's definitely worth it. If you have physical limitations then yes this is not the place to stay.
