The location was great - it was on the seafront (although the room didn't have a sea view). Good public transport links to central Sliema, St Julians and Valetta - even caught a bus to Mdina from the nearby bus stop. The breakfast was good, although the maitre de service was a bit chaotic, and some of the food choices bizarre!

The bathroom was a little cramped - the WC seems to have been fitted as an afterthought crammed into a space between the bath and the wall. I had to ring down to room service to get the kettle to work, and I gave up trying to get the TV to work - some instructions might be a good idea.

Room wasnt well insulated so could here the traffic all night and the lift everytime someone called it, also room was a little outdated and needs small touch-ups

The Diplomat hotel is in a great location for swimming and snorkelling in the sea, bus stops and the various bars and restaurants. Sliema is a 15 minute flat easy walk.The breakfast was superb with so much choice. Our bed comfortable and towels changed everyday. The roof top swimming pool offers a great views.

The location of the property was great, directly at the ocean. The staff was friendly and made an effort to help, which we appreciated.

The room was run down and did not match the pictures. Especially the bathroom was outdated, with a mini bathtub shower combo and a hairdryer from the 60s. The mattresses were uncomfortable. The AC was not working in our first room, however, we were able to switch rooms and then it was fine. The breakfast buffet did not convince either. - we found a hair in the fried egg. Entering the lobby there was a smell of old furniture and generally musty. We left after staying one night because we did not feel like we are getting out money‘s worth. The staff was open to help. We paid one additional night as a penalty.

the staff were lovely, very welcoming and happy to help. The Diplomat is located in a great spot, across the road from the promenade and with good bus links to Valletta and other areas. The entertainment on Thursdays and Mondays was lovely, breakfast was always slightly varied.

Really struggle to identify any issues - maybe a little confusing if you end up getting down to breakfast as it’s starting, since they are often still setting up. however, after day 1 we worked out that we could seat ourselves and confirm our room number when they came around.

we love the welcome at the hotel! nice team and the service is really great. the hotel and the room were super cleaned. we enjoyed the pool and the live music on the roof !

It is extremely old. We were very unhappy with the overall hygiene! The hairdryer in the room did not work. Everything was very bad quality and old. Low standards.

Staff was really nice. Very polite, quick and lovely people. I’ve enjoyed glass of Prosecco as a welcome drink. The room was clean with plenty of towels. The lobby interior is gorgeous.

Generally the it’s not worth the prize. The room felt old and the small ceilings were a little bit claustrophobic. The gym isn’t well equipped and being there felt like I’m in some sort of a horror film. The main breakfast was nice variety of options, but the room didn’t felt nice as well. I’ve enjoyed more the breakfast upstairs at the lobby restaurant, where nice coffee is served, and even though the food options are limited, it was a nicer experience.

the hot breakfast in the morning was not hot we complained but it was the same 4 mornings out of 5. The rest of the breakfast was great.
