It was a quirky, historic property on the edge of the water and was really nice. The staff were particularly lovely.
There was no shower in our room - only a bath. We did miss the convenience of a shower.

We liked the decor, the tranquility, even with some noise across the rooms, it's a very old building and the staff were great.
On a very minor point an additional armchair in the room would have been ideal.

La posizione vicino al centro, tipicità belga.
Camere un po’ troppo piccole

Old world charm. Very good staff. Ella was very good and cheery and helpful.
Breakfast very nice too. Room nice - stairs a little steep on upper floors for people with mobility problems.
Very nice position near canal.

Staff were amazing, breakfast was exceptional-nothing too much trouble. Our room was beautiful and very well equipped. Couldn’t ask for more
No lift-but old property so not to be expected

Location is excellent and the staff was wonderful.
The hotel has a relatively worn look to it. I hadn’t been there for almost 20 years, and it seem that nothing had been really updated since I had been there. Our room was on the lowest level, and while it was clean, it felt a bit musty and damp. I didn’t care for the fact that there was no shower.

Breakfast too expensive. Not remarkable , no hot cooking like personal omelettes, waffles, pancakes etc. When a noisy family moved I. Next to me they moved me to a better and quieter room.
If going to have $20 Eros breakfast , make it better

The location by the side of a picturesque canal in central Bruges was absolutely incredible. How was it so quiet and peaceful within such close proximity to the centre city? The staff were extremely friendly and professional, typically Belgian in their ability to answer questions in whatever language was thrown at them. Our room looked over the canal. We could open the windows and look up and down the canal checking for the coots, swans and crested grebes with their fledglings that plied the waters. There is minimal water traffic along the canal, so it remains quiet throughout the day and night.
The quality of the breakfast was outstanding and at 20 euros a shot was good value compared to the city cafes. The enclosed garden at the rear of the hotel is a peaceful place to sit if you're not out and about in town. The Wi-Fi reaches out that far, so you can work if you need to and smoke if you really must. Take the mozzie rep though because they will come visiting if you sit in the shade.
These are not dislikes, merely observations. It's a very old hotel, so the room was quite small, but that is to be expected. The bottom bed sheet seemed a bit small. You could tuck it in whichever side you liked, but not both. Again, because it's an old and small hotel the space for dining is a bit crowded. At the top of the tourist season, the hotel was busy. Consequently, coupled with the great value of the breakfast the restaurant was busy; a bit too busy for us at times.

Good breakfast, quiet and serene location. I like old buildings like that. The room was a bit kitschy, but I liked the style. Staff very accommodating. Clean as much as I could tell.
Ground floor room showing to the garden. That made me feel not very private, though the garden was rarely used by anyone. One socket did not work. And the usw of the coffee maker was not obvious. The shower/bathtab does not really work standing up. Not enough pressure. No protection from spray either.

Location of the hotel is perfect. Nice old fashion and clean rooms. Very nice old building and quiet place.
however, due to the age of the building, sound isolation is not great between rooms.

Centrally located for historic Bruges - easy to walk into town. A lovely historic building with friendly, helpful staff.
Parking onsite not available ( and very expensive) but public underground car park less than 10 minutes away and only €16 per 24hours.
