Goutama Homestay

From our arrival through the chaos of Ubud, the lovely welcome made us feel relaxed. Didi showed us to our room and our luggage was carried for us. Our room had a view of the family compound and was very comfortable with a large bathroom and bed. A compact fridge, cupboard, bottled water and a kettle for tea and coffee, made for a very pleasant two day stay. Even though it is located in the heart of Ubud, it was very quiet. Both the air-conditioner and the wifi were super efficient. The connected restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner; really delicous and reasonably priced. All the staff were friendly and obliging. The laundry service was super efficient and again reasonably priced.

The pool was quite a distance from the room and down a flight of stairs and for an older lady, I didn't fancy walking through the complex in my swimmers. The shower and the air-con kept me very comfortable, so it was not really an issue.

The location is the best part of the stay - Jl Gautama is a nice, quiet street full of restaurants, cafes, massages etc. At the same time, it's 7 min walk to the Palace. So, quiet and nice, but central. Everything is just off your doorstep. The room is nice and clean. Breakfast is pretty basic, considering there are a lot of options just within a 5-minute walk radius - we didn't use it for most of the days we stayed

The pool does exist, looks clean, but somehow not inviting - nobody uses it, looks a bit neglected, strange feeling... Basic breakfast I already mentioned, there is breakfast, but you are better off just going somewhere else in the neighbourhood.

Super Unterkunft! Die Lage ist fantastisch: Obwohl das Homestay extrem zentral liegt, ist es überraschend angenehm und sehr ruhig. Die Zimmer sind klasse und der Service rundum herzlich. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kommen gerne wieder!
