House of Freddy

Die Lage ist super, da sich ein Albert Heijn gleich um die Ecke befindet. Außerdem ist der Wochenmarkt nur etwa 10 Minuten entfernt. Auch abends ist es angenehm ruhig.

Das Einzige, was mir einfällt, sind die sehr engen und niedrigen Treppen. Das war allerdings auch irgendwie lustig und gehört zu den kleinen Besonderheiten der Unterkunft.

Location close to tram line, about 1/2 hour walk from Amsterdam Centraal and short distance to museums and centre, room nicely decorated, bed was comfortable, room and bathroom were clean.

There was a bit of a strange smell in the room.

The location was great - centrally located, next to a good grocery store, parks, and center of town. We didn't meet our host on check-in and didn't interact with staff often, but when we did see someone, they were nice!

The amenities were quite bare bones - I asked multiple times about filling up water bottles, but the staff couldn't help us with it. Housekeeping filled up one water bottle in the room each day as part of services, but they didn't fill up the reservoir in the coffee machine so that meant that half of that water went to coffee anyway. There was a public tap close by but it was closed while we were there. The safe in our room was also not working - I messaged the host about it but they never circled back and didn't have it fixed while we were there. I later noticed there were lockers downstairs, but the host never offered us a locker or another solution. The fridge didn't really cool well, even though it was set to the lowest temp. We put a bottle of wine in there and it got to cool at best but not cold.
