The Waterside Hotel & Spa

We loved the location, the staff and the overall theme of the hotel. The gardens were beautiful.

As mentioned, we did enjoy our stay but it could be so much better (especially for the price we paid) with just a few tweaks. The room was lovely, however I would have appreciated real milk rather than the 80s peel back pods. The bathroom was a great size but again, some cotton wool type products would have been very welcome, especially as you are in the middle of nowhere. I asked reception for some cotton wool (as they say they stock things you may have forgotten) they didn't have any. Dinner/food was good but not consistent over the two days we stayed. It wasn't bad but not great either. Breakfast was buffet style, which is fine if the foot traffic is busy which it wasn't. Surely money could be saved on the food wasted during quieter times of the year and perhaps breakfast could be made to order? We felt that the bar had lost it's identity and there was nowhere in the bar/restaurant that felt like the 'bar area'. That said, the average age of residents was well into retirement age and perhaps this explains everything - the hotel is catering to the masses and we're not quite there yet!

Wedding on - nightmare for sleeping and relaxing, However they did pre warn us there was a wedding and offer alternative dates as it would be noisy (didn’t realise it would be so loud)

The location was excellent and the room very comfortable. Food was also excellent.

I felt it was a little over priced and under staffed as our room was never made up. The bar area lacked atmosphere.

Good location, on the beach. Parking was in front of the hotel. Room had a nice sea view and was well appointed.

A noisy wedding took place on the first night and our room was located above the dance floor. We were notified in advance by the hotel but not early enough to find an alternative. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant each day and thought it was adequate but not great food quality. Expensive!e, Cheap synthetic pillows and bedding.
