DONGMEN 3 Hostel

Honestly the most exceptional hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Extremely neat and tidy, well organised and thoughtfully designed. The staff are friendly and helpful. The common areas are quiet and well equipped even with hot and cold water dispensers. The building has a convenient lift and is located literally right next to Dongmen station and a Family Mart making it super easy for travellers. The pods themselves are very clean and thoughtfully designed with little desks inside, power point outlets next to the bed head, a small hanging rack with coat hangers and multiple lights and comfortable doonas and mattresses. There is also lockable compartments underneath the bed and shoe lockers outside the room. The AC is set at a good temperature to keep the pods cool. No shows are allowed in the rooms, it has multiple mirrors and a separate hanging rack and a window to let fresh air in. They provide slippers for bathroom and common area use which is really nice. The bathrooms are great they provide free women’s hygiene products, shower gel and shampoo as well as hair dryers and other disposables like dental floss and hair ties. There is a pay to use washing machine but there is detergent provided. The showers have excellent water pressure and baskets and hooks for your belongings. Honestly could not fault this place it was incredible.

The dorm can be a little loud if people are moving around as there are lots of hard surfaces for the sound to bounce around.

Bed was large. You get a locker under the bed (at least I did with a lower bed). There is a small closet next to the bed. Showers and bathrooms were always clean. Bed mattress was perfect for me. There is an area on the first floor for eating and a little for socializing. Maybe a fridge you can use along with a sink. Oh next to the MRT station!! (Going outside do not turn left to go to the tunnel near there because it is the long way. Turn right and then right into the alley to go to entrance #3 and it is much faster!). Next to Peter Better Cafe where I would have breakfast although the hostel has its own coffee place. I had to get comfortable with being in a hostel. It is far better than bunk beds and many other hostels.

Oh gosh this is a tough one. You have a curtain that blacks out most the light outside but a person might turn on the light at night or it never got turned off? I would like to experience 1 or 2 other hostels to see if they are any better than this.
