I stayed here for one night to experience the bbq party on Sunday. The room was fine for one night - it’s practical but not ‘luxury’. There’s no AC in the room but it was perfectly fine for me because the temperature wasn’t too hot and there’s a fan. It’s a spacious room and right in front of the beach so it’s a lovely scene. I spoke with one of the managers who is a very nice guy and helpful. The bbq was fun and the staff were really helpful and also got involved with the dancing. I am traveling alone so they put me on a table with other solo travelers, which was nice, and I made some friends that I continued to meet up with during my holiday.

The shower head is a bit small. The walls are quite thin so you can hear the noise quite easily but I only stayed 1 night and I’ve heard it’s quite quiet there every other night of the week apart from Sunday.

They first ran out of bathing water which is salt water after that the power cable broke they can't do that and they had generators which started afterwards there was no water and a pump was Broken it's not their fault either and we had to wait to check out as we couldn't have a morning shower which is salt water all over the room was next to the kitchen and the sewer was open so The smell was unbearable in the room, no compensation was offered, not even a cup of coffee. I think the place has had its reliance and has become tired

Everything was great at the hotel, it definitely exceeded my expectations. Staff is very friendly and caring, felt like they will do their best to make sure everyone is enjoying their time here. Food is very delicious, there are plenty options to choose from for lunch and dinner. There are only 3 or 4 options for breakfast, but the one with avocado toast is something I was looking forward every morning. Power shortages were handled very nicely - it was pretty rare to even feel one. I seriously fell in love with the place and already looking forward to coming back. :)

Not that it bothered me, it is more for information - there is no AC in the rooms, so it might get kind of hot during the night.

the food was amazing in the whole stay. we really enjoyed their bbq buffet and the alive musical on sunday. the staff was really really nice and approachable. the room was very cleaned and I liked the fact that family monkeys came in the morning to visit

unfortunately the beachfront, i am sure it’s not on hotel’s hands but If you’re looking to chill on the beach I have to say it’s not the best place to choose as it’s really dirty and not enjoyable but the pool is good.

The location is basically on the beach. You have the ocean on one side and a tiny little forest on the other side. The room was nice and clean. The staff is really friendly and customer oriented. I really loved that they were cleaning the room twice a day (in the mornings and the evenings). This is a very big plus for us. We were greeted by Jonathan (the manager). He's very friendly person and easy to talk to. It was a pleasure to meet him. We also had the chance to meet and talk to the owner. She is really nice, very friendly and try to make everyone to feel good. She was kind enough to let us have a late breakfast (we didn't manage to wake up on time after the Sunday's swahili night). The food is really good! You can see the monkeys jumping on the roofs and in the trees from the tiny forest next to the location. They are very curious and fun to see. There's also a nice swimming pool if you don't like the salty ocean water! Every sunday there's a swahili party night up to 3-4 am in the morning. Other than that, the location is pretty quiet and the atmosphere is peacefull and relaxing. That's exactly what we were looking for. Please keep in mind that the location is not one for the party people. For dog lovers: You will find 2 dogs at the location: Snoopy and Kili. They are very friendly and they will walk with you on the beach when there's a low tide. They will even swim with you. Kili will bring you a coconot and then waits for you to throw it into the ocean so he can run, swim and grab and proudly return with it in its mouth. Overall it was a really good experience!

Internet is really slow even if the wi-fi signal strength is really good (this is because of the wi-fi repeaters spreaded across the location). I believe this is a general issue on the entire island and it's not necessary related to the location. Internet in Zanzibar is terrible. We bought a Vodacom sim card from the airport but even with that, the 3G and/or 4G internet speeds are as fast as a turtle.

I have enjoyed the view on the beach from my room, the bar, the pool and the sun deck. The vibe is very relaxed and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the menu for lunch and dinner offers a lot of choice. The quality of the food is surprisingly good for a relatively small resort and the prices are very acceptable.

WiFi is not so good, but that seemed to be the case all over Zanzibar. Sending some pictures home was ok, but a 1 minute movie clip prooved challenges. Switching off from your mobile addiction is unavoidable :)

- the beds were very firm, I like a firm bed but these were rock solid - if you’re not an early riser ask for a room away from the restaurant/bar area, staff started setting up chairs and tables at 0530/6

Everything in this hotel is simply perfect: the comfortable but unpretentious rooms, the plentiful and varied breakfast and the friendly staff. Kerstin handles this lodge with German professionalism accompanied by African relax. A perfect mix!

Lovely location, lovely rooms very comfortable. Staff were amazing. Managers always went above and beyond. Monkeys come to visit too from time to time!!

I stayed in room 8 and it didn’t feel very private. I felt like everyone could see into the room as the curtains kept moving in the breeze.

Clean rooms with excellent shower , staff are friendly and always on hand. Management always available to sort any trips or give sound advice. Great relaxing area next to the pool overlooking the beach with bar service and the restaurant served delicious food.
