Hotel K2

Super Lage und top Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Für ein 3* Hotel war ich sehr positiv überrascht. Das Zimmer war sehr gross und modern. Das Bad ebenfalls riesig.

Wide balcony, comfortable beds, easy access to downtown

Nearly constant noise from being close to the main square of the upper town where either some loud city festivity or other party or construction work was going on.. Municipal quiet hours code (22:30 on, etc) is never enforced. Without being the K-2's fault the Mexican restaurant next door had lousy rock and pop music on loud till past 23:00. In our room the infinity shower fixture was broken and literally held by a thread (actually the emergency cord!). The room has no A/C so hot days were actually really hot days also given the southern exposure. The walls are so thin, they moved when we closed the door. The light switch arrangement is quite silly with no central control by the beds. Individual reading lighting was so high as to certainly cover my companion. Staff at desk and entry competent but fairly indifferent.

Location was perfectly central.

Our room backed onto a noisy street and knowing the hotel wasn’t fully booked we had politely asked to be moved and willing to pay any additional cost. Unfortunately the attitude from the lady on the front desk was as frosty & rude as it was on both check-in and checkout !. My final comment was breakfast was very poor with no local breads on offer, not even basics like tomatoes and if you were later to breakfast don’t expect the food to be replenished.
