I will never understand why so many people give negative reviews of this place. The location is perfect for all amenities, and the staff, especially Steph, and Ali, are exceptionally friendly and professional.p, and a joy to talk to. I will admit that yes, the building is dated, and needs a bit of a makeover, but don’t we all? It all adds to the superb character of the place. I’d much rather stay in a hotel like this, than a posh 5* one any day.

Water pressure in the shower could be increased to a better level, and controls to lower the amount of condensation that appears in the bedroom…

very run down dirty and smelt of cigarettes aa soon as you walk into reception. Rips on the bed. Dirty carpets. Very dated furniture.

Staff were friendly and very helpful.Bar man was bit put out when I asked for black coffee had to make it.Bed was comfortable great size tv.Clean 👍

I loved the character of the place, and the man who met us on reception and served us breakfast (which was amazing) was one of the nicest people I've ever met.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

The hotel stank of cigarette smoke from reception throughout all the hallways and the bedroom and the explanation from the hotel was not possible, it is abundantly clear that smoking is happening in the vast majority of the rooms. The room was, on face value, clean until you look closer and you see that it isn't. Dirty curtains with aged net curtained windows, a 2 inch hot water pipe throughout the room and bathroom meaning it was always hot, door lock is an older Yale style which kept sticking, car park was in the back and takes 4, maybe 5 cars and driving in or out is lethal requiring excellent parking skills and an element of luck! For some reason there was a mechanical banging all night long... Never worked out what it was despite spending 3 nights awake trying to work out what it could be. Run down, dilapidated, smells disgusting and didn't want to risk the continental breakfast... Why not a proper cooked breakfast?
