Hotel Don Quijote Plaza - Guadalajara Centro Historico

In a central location and a little tired but overall clean. The staff, or should I say man at the desk, were very helpful and responded to issues. I didn’t have the breakfast as there are so many great options close by. La Chata being the best. I was satisfied with the hotel overall with a few of key disappointments:

The WiFi is so weak as to be non existent. That’s unacceptable when local restaurants have very good WiFi so it is possible to do better. I was initially given a street room but I mentioned to the man at the desk, who was there the full 3 days I stayed, that it was noisy and he immediately offered to move me to an interior room. This was better but still the acoustics of the courtyard are such that people talking early or late, comes into the room. Finally, the room lacks everything apart from basics. No fridge, no kettle, for example.

The restaurant food value was a little to expensive. We went across he street for tacos

Check-in was fast and easy. The staff was friendly and professional. I liked the courtyard and the fish in the fountain. The room was clean and the wi-fi was fast. Checkout was a breeze.

I think because of the open courtyard sound carried a great deal. It was quite noisy in the middle of the night, with large groups of people talking and rolling bags down the halls at 2:45 a.m. and again at 5:00 a.m. The disruption continued for a long time. The beds were quite hard as well, so it was difficult to get comfortable.

Das Zimmer hatte nur ein winzig kleines Fenster und war sehr spartanisch eingerichtet. Erst auf Nachfrage wurde eine klar erkannbar befleckte Bett-Decke ausgetauscht. Der Tages-Rezeptionist ist nur bedingt freundlich und bereitete uns keinen besonders herzlichen Empfang.
