The site is really great, with good location and very supportive personnel. You can use two bikes to make small journeys around and alongside the ocean.

The Casa is a superb restored stone home with attractive rooms and amazing decor! The pool was very appreciated after a long, hot day on the Camino! The included breakfast was excellent and the experience was very positive.

Paulo was fantastic! So helpful upon our late arrival (we were two couples hiking the Portuguese Camino Coastal route.) Because of the day of the week, the restaurants within walking distance were closed, so Paulo arranged for a taxi to pick us up and take us to the next village over (where there were numerous dining options.) Our rooms were lovely, well appointed and so clean! Wifi was great! Breakfast was absolutely delicious and Paulo took time to give us history of the residence before our departure. Highly Recommend a stay at Casa D’Joao Enes!

Beautiful historic mansion with very nice, spacious rooms and modern bathrooms. Very friendly and helpful staff made our stay so pleasant. Great breakfast to strengthen us for the days walk and good advice how to cross into Spain on our Camino.

tremendous older home renovated with the western tourist in mind.

Booking.com listed my reservation as a Superior Double or Twin room…look at details of listing, showed King bed, ground floor and view of the garden. we did have view of garden, but from next level up. no king bed and unfortunately not a great night sleep. we were first guests to arrive, only two couples stayed that night(13 October), but were given the smallest twin beds in the house. we did walk through other unoccupied rooms which had a legitimate double bed…I do have to say that the host Paulo is a very welcoming host, but didn’t meet him until breakfast the next morning. I think description of property/rooms need to be revised. as beautiful as this property is, don’t feel like we received value for the price. this is the first property since we’ve started our Camino in Portugal where I’ve felt this way! like I said, Paulo and his mother and father were beautiful, I just felt like we were shuffled off to the smallest beds when other larger beds existed that night!

This place was exactly what we hoped for. Beautifully renovated old house with a garden pool in the center of the picturesque village of Afife. We stayed in the "o laranjal" room in the main house, which comes equipped with a modern bathroom, plenty of storage space, a coffee maker and a mini bar. The breakfast was excellent and the beach is just a 20-minute walk down the hills. The family that owns the place was most helpful and pointed us to wonderful restaurants and beaches. We enjoyed our time there immensely and highly recommend the place to anyone wishing to escape the city for a few days.
