Chiangmai Gate Hotel

Pool and friendly staff and location near local food market and massage shops,

Pool not open till 8am and I swim before breakfast and would prefer a buffet breakfast

Clean, central to everything.

Staff didn’t really know how to make drinks. I had Pina Colada- staff had to study it then make. It didn’t come out like it suppose to. It took sometimes 10 minutes to make.

They let me check in early only if I paid for another full night's stay, which I did. The room was a good size with a king-size bed, and the air conditioning worked very well. The bathroom was clean but a bit tired. The shower consistently overflowed into the bathroom, where there was also drainage; this was more of a wet room than a bathroom. For the price, I didn't mind. In the area - there are scooter hire firms, the local market, bars with pool tables and laundry services.

floors could have done with a scrub in the rooms.

Location

Poorly maintained, shower over bath, furnishing unclean in some areas
