Best place we have every stayed! Equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need and more! So clean and tastefully decorated. Minutes from the beach. Such a beautiful island. Amy was quick to answer questions and made sure we were well taken care of. We were so sad to leave but will be back!

Spent a DELIGHTFUL week at The Perfect Shell. The house is super comfortable, clean, and well stocked with everything one needs (especially the kitchen). We loved the quiet, the pool and its close proximity to the beach. The hosts are very responsive to questions/needs which provides a sense of security as the Island works to recover from Hurricane Ian. We definitely hope to return for future visits to the island.

The “Perfect Shell” is indeed perfect! Perfect place, perfect pool, perfect peace! Our second time and no disappointments. If you’re looking for solitude, and a sense of contentment look no further. The pictures are exactly what you get. The hosts are premier.

Our first time at Ken and Amy’s home on North Captiva. The home was spotless and exceeded all of our expectations. We were worried about possible Hurricane Ian damage to the home but not a single thing out of place or damaged. Loved it and will be back. Thanks for a great week!

It is impossible to describe how amazing this house is. It is our third time visiting and we would never stay anywhere but here on North Captiva. It’s the best of the best. The owners live locally and it is always kept perfect. Any questions or needs are answered in minutes directly from the owners. They have a brand new water filtration on the whole house and the water tastes better than bottled. Owners have thought of everything to supply the home with from the kitchen to the first aid kits. House is gorgeous, pool is gorgeous, island is gorgeous. This is heaven, or as good as it gets here on earth. I could never guarantee a better place or better hosts than this house. Our family looks forward to being in this home and on this vacation from the second we leave till the second we get back there. Love love love!!

Our second time at the Perfect Shell and still amazing as the first. Property is well maintained, and very clean. Everything is comfortable…from the chairs to the couch to the pool and bed! Only 30 second golf cart ride right down to the best beach on North Captiva. Thank you Ken and Amy for sharing your beach home. We’ll see you next year!

We had so much fun staying on N Captiva and the Perfect Shell was the perfect house! Great decor, great layout, awesome pool, comfortable furnishings and beds, tons of games and movies, everything we could possibly need was there for us. It was by far the best stocked rental house we have ever stayed in! Our favorite thing to do was cruise around the island on the golf cart. We will be back!

I usually don’t do reviews because a lot of places are just average! Amy and Ken had this placed stocked so well!!! We literally didn’t need for anything!!! The home was beautiful and the location PERFECT!! Everything was flawless from check in, the stay, and check out!! Didn’t have to even carry our own luggage!! Absolutely LOVED the perfect shell!!! Thank you for a vacation in PARADISE!!

My family and I enjoyed our week long stay at the Perfect Shell. The home was clean and spacious for our family of 4. The house is stocked with tons of utensils, spices, games, supplies and equipment. We used the suggested Dumpling app to have our Publix food order delivered to the home before our arrival. There's no need to bring beach chairs, umbrellas or water toys as that is all provided, even the handy bag to collect all the beautiful shells you will encounter at the beach. The beds were comfortable and the house has a large screened in porch to enjoy meals or your morning coffee. The pool was our favorite spot - great place to cool off in the afternoons or for a quick swim after watching a beautiful sunset. We visited several spots on the island for our beach spots - everything is just a short golf cart ride away. We visited the Mainstay restaurant a few times - friendly staff and good food/drinks. Amy, the property owner, and the Tortuga staff are helpful and attentive - they provide you with lots of information and tips to make sure you have a wonderful stay. I would recommend the Perfect Shell and North Captiva Island to anyone looking for a place to get away and relax.

We had the most amazing stay at the Perfect Shell. We were amazed at all of the details they thought to include in the home, from baby items, to games, to a kitchen stocked with everything you could possibly need! The location was perfect and the home was so cozy and inviting. The homeowners were so welcoming and checked-in to make sure our stay was perfect, and Tortuga Properties was wonderful, assisting with our groceries and needs as well as transporting us to/from our water taxi! We couldn't have asked for more! We will definitely be returning!

This was our third trip to the island but the first at this home and it was BY FAR the best we have stayed at! The Perfect Shell was well stocked and well maintained. Amy and Ken have thought of everything that you might possibly need and were very attentive. It definitely took all stress out of planning this trip. We will definitely be returning again!

We rented The Perfect Shell for our anniversary celebration and we had no regrets! This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever taken once we arrived to the island. I was skeptical in going due to the remoteness of the island and the thought of getting what I would need there etc etc. If that is keeping you from booking please don’t let it. When you arrive to the ferry the Island Girl Charter staff handle all the luggage until you arrive to the island and then Duncan and the Tortuga staff handle it from there. No worries! We did take some lightweight snacks and foods, but had the majority of our groceries delivered prior to arrival. This service is definitely worth the extra you pay for the convenience of having your groceries stocked and ready when you arrive. The home is beautiful and as pictured on the website. It is very well stocked and we had no worries of running out of anything. Plenty of bath and beach towels, chairs for the beach, and most anything else you could have forgotten. We loved the private pool and quick access to the beach area. The pool was a little warm for us initially but the homeowner was on the island and came right over to turn it off for us. After that it was perfect. If you enjoy shelling this is definitely the place you want to visit. I’ve never seen so many beautiful seashells. We loved riding around on the golf cart and chasing the beautiful sunsets. We do wish the golf cart would have gone a little faster consistently but it was still enjoyable. We are so thankful we could enjoy this little piece of heaven on earth for a week and certainly hope to return one day. Thanks again Ken and Amy for everything! This what exactly what we needed. The house was wonderful, spacious, super comfy, and had absolutely everything we needed. Interior was well kept/updated, organized and nicely decorated without being cluttered. Kiddos loved the house and especially the pool. Having the pool heated was absolutely perfect. We loved every minute of it. Host was very responsive before our trip with any questions we had and Tortuga Properties was incredibly helpful and responsive once on-site and they had a wonderful kid friendly week planned out while we were there (4/9-4/15/22). We wouldn’t change a thing! North Captiva was worth the trek especially bc we never felt overwhelmed with crowds of people. Recommend this stay to anyone with a family wanting to get away and avoid the crowds.

Just finished a week at the Perfect Shell, and can’t say enough about how lovely the property is and how well appointed. Beds were super comfy, kitchen well stocked with coffee pods, spices, etc, abundance of pool towels, fantastic pool, and very private. First time to the island, but definitely won’t be our last! The lot was clean and full of beautiful white sand, palms and shells. The pool was clean and heated.. we enjoyed our daily swims day and night. They had pool toys, beach chairs, outdoor games, etc.. The house was beautiful!! Very spacious, stocked with everything you could ever think of.. we forgot skewers for kabobs… they had them! Score!!! We had a little bit of chilly weather, so spent some time indoors and it was so cozy. We will definitely come back to this amazing beach house. Thank you Amy and Ken for sharing your beautiful home with us.

This was our family’s second stay at the Perfect Shell and it was just as amazing as the first. The home is beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable, and stocked with anything you could need or want. We spent a ton of time at the pool and beach during the day and snuggled up on the comfy couch at night to watch movies. Ken and Amy really make you feel welcome in their home and have created a truly perfect vacation spot- we unplugged and relaxed…just what our family needed before heading into a busy sports season. Tortuga Property was great too…our check-in and out were seamless and their team was always quick to respond to any of our questions. We LOVE North Captiva and the Perfect Shell!!

We don’t have a single complaint in regards to the house as it was incredibly comfortable and was like a home away from home for our family of four. The kitchen was fully stocked with every utensil needed for any meal and we enjoyed having our morning coffee and family dinners on the screened in patio. The sleeping arrangements were extremely comfortable and relaxing after a long day exploring the island. The private pool was absolutely ideal for any families traveling with smaller children. Our main mode of transportation around the island was the house golf cart. We would spend hours just driving around, sightseeing and stopping at all the different areas to explore. We saw a family of manatees by the airstrip, kayaked with dolphins in the bay, fished off the Mainstay boat docks, had daily shelling adventures and even watched as some teen vacationers reeled in a six foot bull shark from the north beach. If you’re looking for a tranquil, private location for a getaway The Perfect Shell on North Captiva is your destination. We were slightly worried prior to the trip about getting groceries to the island but Tortuga Properties shopped and stocked the house prior to arrival with no missing food or beverage. After watching families haul countless coolers and bags on and off the Island Girl Ferry there really is no better way to do it. The island itself is very small and only had three main restaurants. Our favorite was Mainstay, which we dined at several times for dinner. It’s a beach bar and grill with live entertainment. We also ate at Mango’s and wanted to try OTW but they were all booked up. My family went into this holiday vacation hoping for a relaxing step away from our hectic and overbooked lives and feel refreshed and re-energized after our stay. We’ve already discussed booking again for next Christmas! Happy New Year!!

I have been to North Captiva about 7x now. This house was the cleanest and best decorated of all the places I have stayed. The only problem I had was that there was construction going on but it wasn't all day. However, I had to schedule my activities around that. I wanted to hang out at the pool more but I went to the beach instead. Other than that I love North Captiva!

The Perfect Shell is amazing! My husband and I have stayed twice at The Perfect Shell. It feels like home from the moment you step in the door. It is clean and well maintained. There is nothing you could ask for, Amy & Ken have thought of everything to ensure you feel you are at home. We can't wait for our next trip back to the island and back to The Perfect Shell.
