Stay was a good one. The mattress in the master bed room could probably be replaced. It's quite springy and my friends couldn't sleep on it well. I'm not sure that housekeeping cleaned the place before we got there. There was a used bar of soap in the shower and the tub didn't look to be cleaned. I don't think the sheets had been washed. The pillows and lamp were in the floor upon our arrival. We did have clean towels and floors. I wouldnt say it looked dirty though, I just tend to inspect a place before I stay in it. Overall we were satisfied with it. I would rent from yellowrose again.

We enjoyed staying here! We didn’t have any issues and loved it being close to Bryson City, but away from all the hustle and bustle in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We loved the back porch area close to the river and the kids loved being able to run outside and wave at the train every time it came by!

very clean. All appliances worked as designed except that the washer needed a manual rinse cycle. No internet available but was able to hotspot with my phone. Will plan on returning with my other grandkids. Very relaxing location

Alot of bees outside the house. We got stung a few times thankfully nobidy was allergic to bees on this trip. Also on Thursday our kids was outside placing and some guys that said they worked for the owner of the residence were outside walking around the property. One of the guys had a gun on his waist which is fine however an announcement that they were coming to look through the storage under the house would have been more appropriate. Especially considering the children ages ranging from 6 to 14 were outside at the time. 3 star rating due to these listed items.

We were very much looking forward to our riverfront vacation and listening to the sounds of the river. The house appears to have been updated recently however the surrounding area does not make you feel very safe. There are several abandoned homes directly in front of the property and several dogs who roam free and swim in the river right next to the house. The bridge is very close to the home and vehicle/road noise drowns out any sounds of peace. Sleeping is nearly impossible between the dogs barking, passing road traffic and lights from the cars shining directly into the master bedroom, curtains would be a great addition. After long days of adventuring in nature, the kids enjoy being able to unwind watching tv or utilizing electronics which they weren’t able to do due to the home not having internet. The listing for this home does not state that there is no WIFI or internet even though the TV has internet? Upon calling we were told there direct tv but there wasn’t direct tv but a smart tv with only apps for the guest to use their own streaming accounts on. We do not feel comfortable entering our personal information into a stranger’s television and this should be advertised. We wouldn't have rented this property if we had known. Most dishes were dirty upon arrival and had to be washed before using and the kitchen lacks amenities including a toaster. We will not be returning to this property as there are plenty of options which would allow us to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the area.

Too expensive for the quality of the home
I wouldn't describe our stay at this little home on the river as awful, but we did expect a lot more for the price. It does back up to the river, and the back porch is nice, but the interior of the home was what one might expect from a low-end motel. No modern updates, and it didn't seem as though it had been thoroughly cleaned in a while. If you're looking for a spot for a bunch of dudes to crash after you spend most of your time at Harrah's Casino, I would say this is a good spot. If you're bringing your family up to the mountains for hiking, etc., I'm not sure you're going to be happy with your choice. The management company was easy to work with, they provided a lot of towels, and it had a lot of coffee cups, dishes, pots and pan. We paid about $300 per night with the fees, and I think it was worth about half that amount.

The back porch is so nice being directly by the river. The beds were all very comfortable and the kitchen was fully furnished. The only complaint we have was the steps leading down to the river by the porch are treacherous. One of our family members fell and almost landed in the rocks. This really needs a hand rail to help steady you as you descend.

We stayed and went on the Polar Express with GSMR in neighboring Bryson City. The North Pole on the train ride is located 1 street up from the house. The area itself is a little run down and the the town of Whittier is dead. However, you are close to Dillsboro and Cherokee. We enjoyed our stay. I would say if you don’t want to hear multiple trains a day and are looking for a more lively city this isn’t the place for you. If you are renting just to stay out and enjoy a river view this is perfect. The house appeared recently remodeled. Nice towels, washer/dryer was clean, kitchen was well equipped.

There were 3 families and we left during the day without locking the doors with no issues. Didn't lock car doors at night either. Yes, there is a trailer on the lot in front, but don't judge. Didn't even see anyone come or go from there.

The cottage was very clean, a very calm place to stay in a quiet area. Only issue we encounter was the air filter had not been changed in an extremely long time, so we went and bought one, and the back deck needed more attention, birds had pooped all down the window, and on some of the door and on most all of the deck furniture. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The location is away from crowds and traffic, but it only a short drive to the casino and shopping.
