The Tbilisi Pod

Absolute best value for money I've seen in many hostels. The hostel has a perfect layout - first you enter spacious lounge with sofas, working desks and shared kitchen, followed with rooms and all rooms can access the joing back garden / terrace. The lounge is really nice, spacious and well equipped, comfortable for you to spend some time planning your day, meeting others, having a meal or catching up on some work, many of the guests (including myself) were able to complete the work in the lounge without any problems. The bed was comfortable and had enough space. Lockers were spacious as well. Each room had a bathroom, the bathroom is very well equipped. All of the guests at the time, including people in my room, were very friendly and responsible - we kept everything tight and clean. The staff is very kind, responsive, helpful. My stay here was very comfortable, it was more comfortable then most hostels. Being in a room with only 3 more people (some days two at a time) and havnig a bathroom for each room is a great asset. The neighbourhood is nice and safe, some 10-15 minutes walk from Rustaveli metro station. It's a bit further from Old town but still you have options regarding public transport. There are nice cafes, bakeries and markets nearby. I was overall very happy with my stay here and would definitely recommend it to others.

Ich mochte das Bett oben mit dem Recht großen Schrank. Man konnte sich auf der Terrasse aufhalten und ein wenig Sonne tanken oder drinnen in dem Recht großen Aufenthalts bereich. Die Dusche hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Die Putzkraft Maria war ausgesprochen nett und fleißig.

Das Kopfkissen könnte besser sein. Nach dem Regen waren die Sitzpolster auf der Terrasse immer nass. Oft lagen Produkte noch lange im Kühlschrank obwohl die Gäste schon weg waren. Öfter auch kein Personal vor Ort.

Ich habe zum Glück verlängern können. Ich kann jeden empfehlen hier zu übernachten. Ich mag besonders die 4 Bett Zimmer. Die Wäsche wird einen gemacht gegen eine Gebühr. Es wurde mir sogar angeboten meine Hemden zu bügeln.

The pods themselves are great—with a curtain, an outlet, and their own light. The bed is super comfortable. You get to the top bunk via a small staircase, not the usual bunk bed ladders. The common room looked very inviting.

There were several issues during my stay that couldn't be resolved. The light in my pod didn't work. To be fair, I only stayed there one night; I didn't use it the second night because I had to go to the airport. However, I had booked the hostel for two nights so that I could leave my valuables there the whole time and wouldn’t have to carry them around Tbilisi the entire time. But since there was no key for my locker, that plan unfortunately didn’t work out. That problem couldn’t be resolved either. It seems the staff member in charge on site didn’t pass the issue along. Surely there should be a spare key on site for cases like this. The staff member on site told me he could lock my belongings away, but he isn’t always there, so I wouldn’t always be able to access my things. He also said I could safely leave my things in the room—after all, it’s under video surveillance. And sure enough, there was a camera in the women’s dormitory—which, after all, is something you book specifically for safety and comfort reasons. I don’t know what exactly it records. But a camera in the women’s dormitory is an absolute no-go.
