Ranthari Hotel and Spa Ukulhas Maldives

If you are contemplating a stay on Ukulhas, don't even question whether the Ranthari Hotel is the right choice or not - just book it. Perfect location, perfect welcome on arrival at the speedboat dock, excellent check-in and information about the hotel, along with a welcome drink. We couldn't have asked for more. Rezaul, Mustafa, and the rest of the staff were an absolute joy and we will do our best to go back. We particularly appreciated their advice and information, the tours we booked with expert crew (do them all!) and their kindness towards us. The food was of a high standard, there was good variety, and it was prepared in a very clean 'open view' kitchen. The room had everything we needed and was serviced daily. And the view from the room - amazing. The ability to walk out of the hotel and onto the sand was superb. The reef was right in front - much of the coral is damaged as you swim out about 50m to the reef's edge, but here it is reasonably healthy and abundant with fish. We saw it all, including a rare lionfish and turtles. There is some construction underway on the island - more hotels, a police station and a medical centre. While we could hear the construction a bit during the day, it didn't detract at all and there was no noise at night. The people on the island are courteous and it's incredible safe to walk around - we let our teenagers roam freely and reminded them to be respectful of the local culture. We cannot thank this hotel and its staff enough. Honestly, it was an incredible week...

The only minor comment was that the pillows were a bit 'high' - we're used to lower pillows, but this is a personal choice.

The best hotel on the island. I’ve walked the whole island many times looking at the other hotels and trust me this is the best. Always staff in the reception with smiles and greetings. Delicious breakfast buffet with add on eggs if you wish. Espresso machine. Plus free tea/coffee all day. Rizaul and the whole staff could not be kinder or more helpful. Available all day long to help. Best beach steps from the hotel. Enjoy meals on the beach under the palm trees if you wish. Sparkling clean everywhere with fresh lemongrass smells when your room is cleaned daily. The rooftop pool is fabulous too and fill up your water bottle while you’re up there with fresh drinking water. Quiet peaceful safe island and wonderful staff and vacation.

I rarely write reviews but Ranthari is worth it. 1) far enough away from the mosque that there were no 5am calls to prayer disturbances 2) Staff beyond helpful. Like beyond good. Free laundry. I've not had that in 5* hotels. It's not 4* - nothing in the Maldives local islands is but it's clean, working, great. I'm staying there again and I rarely do that with hotels. Dive with Murakaby divers if you can.

Razual (Manager) and staff were all so lovely! They really could not do enough for you! I had the pleasure of being upgraded to a family room with ocean view and it was amazing to wake up in bed to the views of the ocean! Thank you! Food from the restaurant was always cooked fresh, extremely well priced and very tasty! Collected at port and returned to port - staff even stayed to wave me off - such a wonderful gesture I could have cried! Directly on beachfront with own sun loungers and seating area. Everything was just wonderful!

Rooftop pool area could do with some maintenance, but who really needs the pool when I had an ocean like that to swim in!!
