Let me be honest - after a last year's nightmarish rental experience with a Vacasa property I was not looking forward to this trip. Everything looks great on paper but once you arrive you face the ugly reality...
...And I am happy to say I turned out to be totally wrong! The best thing is that you not just renting a house, you are renting the experience. It starts with the smoothest possible check in and continues to the most welcoming combination of a cosy house and a comfortable luxury hotel. The check out rules are as easy as a one liner too.
You will find a lot of decorative items but nothing too personal, delightful refreshments, abundant local treats of all sorts and even bathrobes in every bedroom of 2 sizes.
I already mentioned the house is modern which means everything is super easy to use and nothing is missing. We didn't cook but had to finished the catered food - we even found a pasta pot.
The main suite has a bedroom, an office/walk in closet, a bathroom with a huge window, a giant state of the art shower cabin with powerful hot rain shower and beautiful bath. Fancy bath salt and Molton Brown full sized products provided by every bath/sink. Other bedrooms are cool too. We had 2 newly born babies, everyone felt at home.
Everything is in the perfect working order. No stupid signs - all the instructions provided in the tasteful separate folder.
5 min from skiing and town, the Hosts are always there for you, you do feel welcome! We are back next year, Mod!

We are avid VRBOers. This home, Morrell House was gorgeous, so well cared for. The Super Host, Mod, was more than accommodating, going so far as to offer suggestions for activities and even lined up a caterer who made my wife’s birthday special (catered menu and bday cake). We will most definitely return for a visit…this ski season.

This house truly is as good as it gets. The property has more conveniences then you need to enjoy a wonderful stay! Clean, modern with plenty of space and a terrific mudroom for your ski gear. Also a great location close to the mountain. We had a great day and would highly recommend this property.

What a wonderful place to make family memories. Went for a spring ski weekend. Communication and check-in / check-out was easy. Truly beautiful home with lots of amenities. Loved the welcome basket of food which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay there again.

This is now our third year visiting this property, and our family still continues to look forward, eagerly, to our visits. The space is still meticulously maintained, as clean and new-looking as the first time we visited.
The space is perfect for our extended family, with plenty of room to comfortably accommodate four younger kids, a teen, and four adults.
Mod is always easy to communicate with, and we always feel welcome when we arrive. This is just such a great property to stay at, and we recommend this without hesitation to others.

...or at least one of the very best rentals we've experienced. This is the second winter we have booked a ski trip at Sugarbush and stayed at the Morrell House. Mod is a fantastic host. She is gracious, responsive, thoughtful, and very organized. The house is better than advertised. It's a great experience from start to finish. We wish it were ours.

This property hits it out of the park. The owner is fantastic and easy to deal with, the house is ideally located for skiing and the house itself is the perfect modern ski house. All details from the boot-drying rack and spacious mud room, hot tub, overall layout (easy for adults and kids to share), kitchen design and appliances (Breville and equivalent throughout), beautiful bathrooms (even the kids mentioned how nice the towels were), huge gas fireplace, sensational views, welcome basket filled with local treats, and stocked drink fridges (not a typo - two drinks fridges) are perfectly executed. By far and away the best rental we've had at Sugarbush. Thank you!!

Our experience at Mod’s property was exceptional. Everything was perfect, including the view from the deck. We have traveled the world with VRBO…It feels wonderful to find a get away as special as this home (spacious, stylish, comfortable and impeccable) for our family to gather for special occasions so close to our own Vermont home. Our host was tremendous, clear, attentive and generous. This home is a stand out. We enjoyed every moment there.

We were in town for a Wedding. Everything about this property was exceptional. The spectacular mountain views and the beautiful & well appointed interior. The kitchen was well stocked and the snacks were a nice bonus. The master bedroom/bath was simply outstanding. No detail was overlooked in this home, it is absolutely beautiful. Mod was gracious and a pleasure to work with. Can't wait to stay here again.

Everything about the property met or, in most instances, exceeded our expectations. We were 3 generations of adults and the home worked for us all. The owners could not have been more responsive as we planned or when we were on site. The home is exceedingly clean, with high-end amenities and every gadget or appliance one could have needed. The kitchen is completely outfitted for any possible meal prep. Every room is lovely and exceptionally tasteful and comfortable. It is truly an ideal property.

The House is by far the best VRBO property I have rented!!
Mod is extremely professional and definitly very talented because Mod and Ty thought of every little detail, every detail had the touch of an interior decorator, everything was absolutely gorgeous, the kitchen was perfectly equipped, the large bathtub in the Master Bath was so inviting that bathing became my daily routine with essential oils overlooking the beautiful trees. All bathrooms had Molton Brown Soaps and very luxurious robes, the kitchen had some amazing drinks and snacks, the kids and I had such a wonderful experience, yes I highly recomend this property. I will definitely be coming back.

The pictures do not do it justice. Every room is so well appointed and you can see how much thought and care went into every choice. The kitchen is so well stocked and the linens are delightful. Every bedroom is unique but there isn't one that's better than another. Ok maybe the master suite with that gorgeous bathroom takes the cake but no one was disappointed. The bunk beds have their own cubbies with outlets for your phone and books. With air conditioning throughout, we were completely comfortable even though it was a record heat wave over the weekend. The window seats were crowd favorites - perfect for morning coffee and a book. I jokingly told Mod that I needed a source list for the entire house.
The location is excellent for all things Mad River Valley. Check in and out is a breeze. There was even a generous welcome package with lots of Vermont goodies for us. And Mod was quick with responses and a great host.
We have already started talking about when we'll return!

Nicest VT Ski Rental Ever Had
Beautiful contemporary house with high end finishes and design throughout. The skiing was hurt weather but staying at the house was a great consolation prize. It has extensive amenities like everything imaginable: kitchen, cookware, food warmers, even some food and drinks. Lots of spots to just hang and relax or chill out in the hot tub. Even the smell is nice like a higher end hotel. We plan to rent the home again next year for sure.

We enjoyed a five night stay at the Morrell House for late season skiing at Sugarbush. I can't praise the property or owners enough. Every aspect of the experience was top notch. The house is lovely; well organized, comfortable, great layout, with excellent attention to details. The location is terrific. Mod was a great host. She was attentive and accomodating, easy to communicate with, and friendly. We hope to stay here again.

Another wonderful stay
This was our second year staying at the Morrell House, and it was every bit as wonderful as our prior visit. The house is kept impeccably clean and still looks picture perfect. The pantry and kitchen are very well-stocked and had plenty of dishes for baking and cooking for two families.
The bunk room and the hot tub were a huge hit, again, and we all rested well after skiing at the nearby Sugarbush slopes.
We look forward to returning again!

Amazing Weekend!
This house is perfect for family or two. Again we got another foot of snow! The hot tub is awesome for relaxing after skiing! house has everything provided you need for cooking a nice meal and entertaining. The bunk room is always a big hit! Thank you! And just a short drive to the mountain.

A 5 star experience all throughout
The house was absolutely amazing. It was impeccably furnished and the fall foliage views from the deck were great.
Unlike many vacation rentals, the kitchen was really well equipped and the layout was perfect for our family (esp with two young kids).
The hosts were also really responsive and kind.

Sublime Spring Skiing
We could not have anticipated how divine the experience was going to be. Stole away for 5 days of spring skiing at Stowe and Sugarbush. The weather in the 50s with sun graced the week in summer slush. Coming back to the house was like finding an oasis in miles of sand. The layout on two levels provided us the perfect respite and just enough space for the kids. Evenings were spent drinking wine, cooking, and listening to the bursting laughter drifting up the stairs as the kids soaked in the tub and watched movies in the theater. We are booking our week next year. The best hosts we could have hoped for.

Amazing property in beautiful location
The Morrell House was everything we could hope for in a luxury retreat near the Sugarbush ski areas. My wife and I stayed here in mid-February with our three kids and loved the place from the moment we walked in.
The owners keep the property well-stocked and have thought of many 'little touches' that just made our stay so much more comfortable. The house itself is so nicely finished. We found all the staples we could possibly need in the pantry, and plenty of dishes and silverware for the family to use. The boot-drying rack in the mud-room was a game-changer after a fun day of skiing or playing in the snow. And, we got plenty of use out of the hot tub, as well.
Location-wise, we found the house nicely situated between the Mt Lincoln and Mt Ellen sides of Sugarbush. Both peaks were a short 5 minute drive from the house, and the bus shuttle line also runs right past the end of the road/driveway. We also found it easy to get to nearby Waitsfield to pick up food from a restaurant or nearby grocery store.
Do note that the driveway has a nice incline, so if you come in the winter, a 4-wheel drive or all wheel drive will make a difference. That probably applies to driving around the area in general, though.

Perfect Ski Family Retreat
There was nothing this house doesn’t have to offer - boot warming station, fire place, hot tub, wet bar, deck with gorgeous views, and amazing kitchen/eating area. Mod was responsive with our particular needs and the check in/out was seamless ... perfect, like everything detail in this house! Very short drive to sugarbush but we spent most of the weekend inside since it was so cold! Make sure you are careful if you don’t have 4wd car in the winter - the driveway is a bit steep :)

The house was perfect for our stay! Everything we would need was there, great location from mountain and our hosts took care of all our needs if something came up. We would definitely come back! And it helped we got 2 feet of snow.
