Cute cabin in a great location. It is very cozy and having the propane fireplace makes for a nice rustic ambiance. We are mid 60’s to early seventies so the steep stairs to the loft sleeping area posed a slight challenge but we made do. We’ve stayed at other properties at this location and Andy is always gracious, accommodating, and communicative.

Third time staying in this cozy little cabin. Great mountain views. Animals right outside your door. Andy is a great host.

If you are one who values peace and quiet, this is the place to come and soak it up. Truly a restful experience in this idyllic mountain setting.
Upon arrival we were greeted by a Great Grey Owl. My husband and I are photographers, and we couldn't even begin to unload our gear due to having this rare photo opportunity.
After a bit, our host appeared. This was the beginning of what is going to be a long friendship. Every good thing that has been written about Andy is true. He is the stellar example of what a host should be.
We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay; it went way beyond our expectations.
A photographer's paradise, slow pace and quiet, bring your own food to cook on site or, enjoy an awesome meal prepared at the Mercantile just down the road.
There are lakes to discover and trails to hike. Plan on staying as long as you can because it is worth it!
P.S. Andy likes quiche.

Upon our arrival, the sun was setting over the mountains turning the Montana big sky into an incredible welcome present for us. We jumped out of the car with cameras poised and stood there in awe taking it all in until it was all over. Was just stunning! Shortly thereafter, host Andy stopped in to welcome us and give us some awesome ideas for local outdoor adventures, which we did all of them and had a fantastic time! Each morning we bundled up and sat outside on the front porch with our coffee to watch the meadow come alive and the horses graze in the distance. Was absolutely lovely having no one else around and a vast view to ourselves to enjoy. In the evenings we sat around the campfire reminiscing about our days while keeping our feet nice and toasty. The cabin has a nice gas fireplace with a switch to instantly turn it on and off, which is a nice feature when you don't want to wait or have the hassle of building a fire! It also has a thermostat on it to kick on when the room gets to the temperature you set. The kitchen has a little bit of everything you need for cooking, including a microwave. Very practical and fun to be in a historical place where the most beauty is in the outdoor space! Will definitely be back!

Beautiful scenery from the cabin! Very quiet.
Cabin is warm and cozy!
Andy is great. I took his advice and went on a hike he suggested. He didn’t steer me wrong, it was a gorgeous hike and not touristy like the place I hard originally chosen. So glad I listened. Thank you Andy! I will definitely be back!

The Swan Valley is an incredibly beautiful area. This extensive ranch has 3 cabin rentals with plenty of privacy and room to roam. We were in the valley to kayak the numerous lakes and this cabin is a perfect location. Andy is a great host who will give you privacy or answer any of your questions. He is very knowledgeable about the people and history of this part of Montana. He was also very good at helping to make your stay comfortable.

This place was just right for us. We were personally greeted by the host, Andy, upon arriving. We were in the area visiting family. It was nice to have a comfortable and cozy retreat when we wanted time to ourselves. If you have never been to the area, you’ll fall in love with the scenic beauty of the mountains. It’s truly majestic. I was hooked on the mud pie at the Hungry Bear, the local restaurant. And you can get gas, groceries, and most anything else you need at the Merc. I recommend this cabin. It was a good value.

The property had beautiful views and was peaceful. It was close to Holland Falls and Holland Lake where we planned to spend a day. The cabin was basic which was expected and we were happy with it. It had a lot of interesting decor and books. Andy, the owner was really fun to talk to. He shared a lot of interesting information about the property, cabin and wildlife. We enjoyed his positive vibes!

The Homestead Cabin was rustic-ly lovely, with all the modern convenience's of home. The surrounding area was idyllic with a beautiful view of the meadow below, aspen trees fluttering in the breeze, and the majestic Mission mountains in the distance. It was the perfect country comfy place to meet up with my MI friend on her annual sojourn to her beloved home territory.

The Homstead cabin, property and host Andy was awesome! We stayed for 3 nights, enjoyed the beautiful landscape and did daily horse rides on the property and the adjoining Bob Marshall Wilderness. Andy was very gracious in accommodating, us, our dogs and horses. We are already looking forward to returning next year!

This Homestead was exactly what we needed.
Quiet and so many animals to watch!
We watched a squirrel store parts of the aphgan on the porch
in her pouches to keep her baby’s warm.
One word of advise, bring food! No food places within 60
miles are open in April. I recommend this to anyone
who wants to get to the quiet side of life.
Thank you Andy for being a perfect host!

Rented this property for my wife’s birthday. We loved the cabin and property. We will definitely stay again this summer. Loved that there was only WiFi and no tv so we’re able to unplug and enjoy the quiet cabin.

Andy was an AMAZING host, he was very helpful and friendly. He told us all about the history of the property, the surrounding area, and gave us recommendations on places that were good to check out. The cabin felt like a home away from home. It has a fun set up for kids in the loft, it took a lot of effort to get my kids to leave with how much they loved it! If you want a peaceful, cabin experience away from the hussel and bussel it is the place to go. The property had plenty of room to go on walks and explore, a good porch set up, and a fireplace that would be great to gather around with friends. We loved it so much we already booked another trip back.

A lovely view over a snow covered meadow and tucked back into the mountain. We enjoyed the cabins homey feel to it, and the open-ness when you walk in. The walls were covered with decorations and we kept looking for hidden gems. It was a nice stay in a quiet part of the world.

So wonderful, great opportunity to rent multiple cabins for friends and family in a beautiful place. You really feel at home. My 3 year old son kept calling it, "our sweet little house".

Absolute perfection! The Homestead Cabin, located on Meadowland Ranch is absolutely perfect. The view alone makes this a million dollar stay! The cabin itself is exactly what it should be; the perfect place to disconnect, unplug, and unwind. It has all the amenities you need plus a library that would take a year to get thru! It's comfortable and homey, inviting those who enter to relax and connect to nature. Andy, the owner, is just a gem- friendly, responsive, and a wealth of knowledge on the area spots for fishing, eating, touring, and anything else you may be wondering. An amazing stay, will be back for sure!

We enjoyed the location of the cabin. It is cozy and has chatacter but would appreciate fewer books and decor to make more accessible space for guests. A cookie sheet would be ideal for the kitchen. We would come again.

A special rural locale, & a sweet, cozy cabin, filled with lots of books and pillows. Host very accommodating. Look quite forward to a return visit!

We had a great stay in this cozy cabin! It was incredibly clean, the bedding and mattress in the bed we slept was great. The remodeled bathroom was impressive well done in the small space. We didn't do much cooking, but the kitchen was well stocked with cooking gear. The front porch overlooked a beautiful scene. If you are looking for a weekend to get away from it all... I would 100% recommend the Homestead Cabin.

My daughter and I had a great time. This is our favorite “home away from home” place. A perfect place to relax and hike. The location is perfect for hiking, exploring and spending time in Swan Valley. Andy is the perfect host, always sharing his time and information about the area.

Family of 3 adults and 2 kids, we stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute of it. The view doesn't seem real but it was incredible! Nice break from technology and the city life. Andy was as good of a host as you can get, couldn't ask anymore out of him. Thank you for sharing your awesome place with us.

We stayed at Andy's place in early august and it was everything we could have hoped for. Scenery was stunning, cabin was comfy and Andy was a wealth of knowledge about the area. Cabin is close to lakes and great hiking trails and is quiet at peaceful! Definitely hope to return!

Very nice spot with mountain and meadow views. Needs window units for those 100 degree days and also needs much better WiFi.

Summer Delight
This was our first visit to the Homestead, but we've stayed at Andy's other place, The Lazy Bean, a couple of times. As always the setting is sublime, the hospitality outstanding and the process clear and easy. The beautiful sunrises and sunsets framed each of our days and the various hikes in the area filled the daytime hours.
