The Bull Inn

The breakfast was very tasty. All the ingredients were top quality and well-seasoned and the cooked vegetables were a welcome addition compared to a more typical egg and bacon. The staff were friendly and helpful, the pub interior was pleasant and had good outdoor spaces too. It's in a very convenient location being easy to get to by car (24 hour parking only 2 mins walk away) and very near the castle, shops and other pubs, cafes and restaurants.

We were in bedroom 9 which is a standard king double and while smaller than some other rooms, it was still generally clean and pleasant with a good bathroom and comfortable bed. However, we like to have the window open in warm weather (rather than use the fan) but there were some noisy units outside so it we didn't sleep well. The pub was full so we couldn't change rooms, but our issue was acknowledged and we were compensated accordingly. That is good customer service in our books.

We love this place, it's food, ambience and ethos are wonderful. The beds are cosy, the fiid delicious, the staff lovely.

We stay here numerous times to see family, and love it, but have experienced the same problem twice. We book a room advertised as 'twin or double' but have to contact the hotel to confirm twin, and it's been difficult. More clarity about how to request twin during booking would be greatly appreciated.

Great food. Some lovely staff. Nice ambiance

Rude manager first night. Other staff-mixed in terms of efficiency, but lovely. Rooms pretty basic. Odd configuration in bedroom- had to move bed to get to a socket suitable to charge a phone at night-had to leave phone charging on the bed as because of lay out in room, it could not reach table (potential fire hazard) that hadn’t been thought through.
