A nice cabin on the side of the mountain, clean and comfy beds

It was nice but definitely could have been cleaner.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived at this property, there was an odor coming from the kitchen, the floors were filthy, and the bathrooms had not been touched at all. There was hair in the shower and on the bathtub. There is no way the house was cleaned before we arrived. I would like my cleaning fee to be refunded.

Stayed for the Presidents’ Day weekend. The property was clean and as advertised. Very close proximity to the slopes. Would definitely stay again.

Overall we loved it great location. View was awesome. Will stay there again. Just get a better housekeeper.

Everything was great except this year they didn't have cable TV, just netflix on Roku. We called the property mgmt office and they said no local channels just movie channels, my husband was unhappy because he wanted to watch football games at night. Other than that the place is awesome. Please bring back cable tv, thanks!!

Traveled to Beech Mountain for a few days of snowboarding with my husband and son. This place was just right for us- right next to slopes, super cozy, great views, and pet friendly. The deck is really nice and great for enjoying the morning or evening views as well as watching people board and ski.

The house is very close to the ski slope which is nice for ease of access. The house is good for trips with a small group. It's pretty basic when it comes to the amenities. All the rooms have small space heaters that need to be reset sometimes which is good to know before you get there. Some have a small button you can push with something skinny like a tooth pick but others you need to take the cover off to access the button so bring a Phillips head screwdriver. I also recommend allocating some time to cleaning. I saw comments from other people complaining about the house not being clean and we had the same experience. Other than that it's a good house for a ski trip.

Which made the status of the cabin (just older and out of date) feel worth it. It is just a few steps from the slopes and you can see the lift to lower Shawnee hall from the kitchen window. I definitely don’t think 6 sleeps comfortably here. There is one king bed, one full bed, and a sleep sofa but the sleeper sofa is very small and thin. Luckily we only had 5 people so one person managed the sleeper sofa. The living room and kitchen have beautiful floor to ceiling windows with a panoramic view of the slopes but unfortunately the blinds let in a lot of light so the person sleeping on the sofa really wasn’t able to sleep well. The heat is old and doesn’t work in all the rooms, we wished we had brought our radiant heater with us for the full size bedroom where it wasn’t working. Bring some 9x13 pans or baking sheets if you plan on using them, the selection for clean good pans was slim. Overall cleanliness was ok, the reviews of the musty old smell was accurate, and we had a dirty towel in one of the closets but nothing we couldn’t just ignore.

The location of the cabin was nice . It has a large deck that wraps around the cabin. It has a breath taking view . The cabin Has large windows That wrap around so the view really is beautiful but there were a few issues that we found with this property. cleanliness was a big issue . As soon as you enter the cabin there was a smell that lingered throughout our stay . It smelled like wet dog. My family and I sprayed Lysol throughout the cabin to see if it would help. The rugs were dirty and had dog pee stains. The floors felt sticky ,dirty, and had dog hair throughout the property. The bed covers also had dog hair on it as well as the heater vents. I felt so grossed out that I had to bring my own blanket to sleep on the bed. Since it was late and the office was closed after all the things I found I wrote an email to the property manager and to the owner. The property manager was very nice and tried to reach the owner to let her know the problem . I have still yet to hear from the owner . I feel that for the price that you are paying the cabin shouldn’t have issues like these. A lot of the things needed to be fixed and up-kept. Bathroom had many cracks on the wall /paint cracks . Toilet seats need to be adjusted. Rugs were not clean , and again the smell in the bathroom in the hall was awful like mold. This was definitely not what I was expecting.

We had a very nice stay over Thanksgiving - just the 2 of us and our dog. The house sits right next to the ski slope and has amazing views looking over the town and off into the distant mountains. For check in you need to stop and pick up keys at a rental place at the bottom of the hill. We arrived in the allotted time (3-5PM) but the house wasn't ready yet as the cleaners were running behind. The rental contract says if you don't get there by 5PM, they keys can be picked up at 9AM the next day, which kinda worried me as I thought what if we run into traffic or had planned for a late arrival, but a few days before check in, they emailed said the keys would be in a drop box if we arrived after 5. So no worries if you need to arrive later. The house was clean and was a perfect size for a small group. The king bed was memory foam and very comfortable. The bathrooms are upgraded as was the kitchen counter. The only minor issue we had was that the snow machines for the ski slope were running and we watched about a dozen cars struggle to get up the turn right below the house. We were a bit nervous about going out for dinner that night, so we ate in. The plows took care of it by morning but make sure you either have chains to get up the tricky part of the hill or plan to have some dinner food on hand in case the road is icy. All in all, we had a wonderful stay. The views were to die for and the house was warm and comfortable.
