Exceptionally clean and wonderfully cozy! There were so many little niceties! The neighbor felt safe. The tv in the living room let me log in to my favorite apps. My children loved having their own area upstairs in the loft, and I was happy with the bed... very comfortable!

It was so exciting when we first walked in... clean, so well decorated, well furnished and appointed.. very comfortable beds... wonderful porch to share a glass of wine. We hope to stay there again when we come down to Columbia to visit our two sons and their families. Thank you, Thank you!

Great place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was a perfect location, comfortable, clean, and met all of our needs during the 2 days we spent in South Carolina. We would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay near Lake Murray.

This is a cute nice cottage. The host was so polite and kind. The house is stocked with anything you may need and the neighborhood is very nice. The only con I have is you can literally hear everything from every room, so no privacy.

I was looking for a quaint and quiet place to stay with my daughter. The Sellwood Cottage did not disappoint! The location to shopping and downtown Columbia was perfect and the lake is just a stone’s throw from it. The place was so cozy, we enjoyed reading and drinking coffee on the screened porch each morning. Kristen thought of everything! Will definitely return to stay!!

We loved staying in the cottage! It was clean, exactly as pictured, and in a beautiful neighborhood. Kristen was an awesome host and helped us out with a special request. We hope to stay again the next time we are in town! Couldn’t ask for more!

Perfect for a couple for an overnight stay or a weekend. Our dog enjoyed the small yard and the screened in porch. Cottage was spotless and the bed very comfortable.

I would stay here for a getaway any time. The Lightning bugs in the yard at night were a definite plus. Picturesque

We feel so lucky to have found this perfect cottage. Clean and pretty; everything we needed. We sat out on the back porch and watched fireflies at night and serenaded by birds in the morning while we had coffee. We’ll be back for a longer stay.

We stayed overnight on our way to Florida, and this place was perfect. It is small, but comfy and very clean. It is in a nice neighborhood, with lots of stores and restaurants within a short distance.

Just a charming little cottage. As soon as you open the door it welcomes you in. Even our bichon immediately felt at home. It’s CLEAN, with thoughtful small touches throughout. Nice little screened in porch with rocking chairs. And, Lake Murray is nearby. We would certainly stay again! 🐾

Came to the area to attend our grandson’s wedding. We found the cottage to be as represented in the photos. Nice space. Comfortable living area, though there is no table inside to sit down at and eat a meal. We used the screened-in porch, but there is a lot of road noise from behind the cottage. You don’t hear it inside, thank goodness! What you do hear is some old fire truck (maybe used as a food truck?) coming and going from behind the cottage early in the morning and at other times. Nothing was communicated about that in advance; it would have been helpful to know. Bed in master was comfy and the ceiling fan and air conditioning in the unit were big positives. The big negatives for us were the very short toilet in the downstairs bath (our knees were practically up to our chin), and the very cramped, low-ceiling shower. We are by no means tall people (~5’9”) but we are older and have arthritic knees. It was so difficult to maneuver that toilet that we found we would look for a Starbucks whenever we could to avoid the hassle at the cottage. The shower situation is a matter of the building itself—we don’t know how a bigger, taller shower would even fit in the space—but it’s just nice to know these things in advance so they don’t come as a shock.

This is a beautiful little home. We used this as a stop on our drive to our place in Marco island. We will be using it many more times. Thank you!

This was a perfect spot for us to spend a couple of days and be able to attend some activities for my son at USC. We found the home cozy and clean. It was well equipped and comfortable. Check In and out was effortless and we did not have any interaction from the owners on the same property as none was needed. As a person that values privacy this is always a concern for me and we were extremely pleased. We would definitely recommend and would gladly stay here again in the future.

This is a great place to stay. The cottage is welcoming, comfortable, clean and beautiful. Excellent communication with host. Great location. We enjoyed the side porch in the morning, felt private and was very relaxing.

We were in town for a funeral, so we just needed a place to sleep. We got so much more from this property - it is WONDERFUL! Beautiful reclaimed wood wainscoting and antique bed frames complete the feel. Kristin, the host, was so warm and accommodating as we made these sudden travel plans. As sleep was our main concern, I will address the beds - the linens are absolutely heavenly. The wonderful hosts provided everything we could have needed from coffee pods and creamer to body wash - even a makeup washcloth was provided! The location was perfect - quiet and secluded. We loved the screened in porch with its rocking chairs. I truly hope we can revisit this property again under different circumstances!

My kiddos loved this experience. While the weather did not cooperate with our stay, the cottage was lovely. Cozy with lovely decor, comfy bed, and the host was very communicative. Highly recommend. If we visit the area again, we would definitely stay here a second time!

From check in to check out, everything was perfect. Owner communication was spot on. We would definitely stay again. Being able to have a hot cup of coffee first thing in the morning was a great start to our day.
