As much as I do not like posting negative reviews, I felt the necessity to post this. The house and location was perfect for our visit but the "deposit" has been a nightmare. The owner informed me that they were a larger and on API software so I needed to pay a deposit outside of the VRBO website and sent me a link to do so. I paid the deposit and notified the owner. I started receiving texts stating that they did not receive the $1,500 deposit but rather a $59.00 insurance payment. I submitted a screenshot of the confirmation and asked them to verify that it had been received. On the day of check out I received a text stating that they had received the deposit and it would be refunded as soon as the cleaning was finished that afternoon. The following day I received a 5 star rating from the owner so I assumed I would see the deposit refunded that day. I waited 5 days and then reached out to them asking when my deposit would be refunded. The following day I received a message, again, stating that I did not pay the deposit but rather the insurance payment. I once again sent them the $1500.00 confirmation and asked them to refund my deposit. It has now been 11 days since I checked out of the home and still no refund of my deposit. I would have given this home a 5 star rating had it not been for the inconvenience that I am still going through. I will begin the process of disputing the charge with my credit card company in hopes that this will be resolved!

This house was very convenient for our stay in Matthews - spacious accommodations for sleeping and hosting a larger family gathering. The kitchen was well equipped for basics and for a more elaborate baking project. The neighborhood is quaint and quiet and just a few blocks from downtown Matthews with its restaurants and shops. The property was perfect for my family of 7. There were enough beds for everyone to have their own. The living room area was so spacious and perfect for the kiddos to play. We went to the farmers market Saturday morning and it was so so fun! Perfect house and location!
