Wanted so badly to give a better rating. Hopeful the company (Bahamas vacation club) can see this as constructive criticism and adjust to avoid future issues. We are a large family. 9 in total, a mix of mature and young adults as well as a child and a toddler. We are well travelled & when we go, we opt for a bigger house to accommodate us. So, we were very excited to find Ocean Caprice 14. Regretably, the negatives far outweigh the positives and they are also too numerous to mention. Positives: - Large house, very spacious for big groups and/or families. Stunning views. The beach is gorgeous and there is also a private pool. - Local property manager tried to be as efficient as possible and maintenance is on compound in the day. We had a small incident with a door lock that was rectified pretty quickly. Negatives: - We got a tutorial on arrival about the alarm system and that was pretty much it. Large emphasis on it and the importance of being vigilant due to past break ins in the area. There is a camera in the living room facing the outdoor pool & we were told not to worry its only to ensure if the place is unarmed after hours and there is activity, it turns on automatically. Weird, but we accepted it. However, on reviewing booking.com's policies, a property MUST indicate cameras in their description or be shut down. The camera element is NOT mentioned in the description. - On day 4, we went out for dinner and didnt start making our way back until after 11pm. To our dismay, there was now a closed gate. A gate which in fact we never saw closed and never heard of. Imagine us pulled up with NO clue as to what the code was! Got in because another guest was coming in. We would have slept in the street if she didnt show. Jason was so rude the next day asking how I expect their office to be open at 11pm. Want to type more but the site wont allow. Sum up: gate debacle and Jason 👎house wasnt too clean, roaches, no broom, mold @ pool.
