Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbia Downtown The Vista by IHG

Rooms and beds were very comfortable, clean and well kept.

Had to pay for downtown parking fee of additional $14 to park on property. Very misleading to patrons. Very dissatisfied with this additional charge as parking is always free and included in stay.

The location was great and the breakfast that was provided made the value of our stay even more considering how expensive it is to eat out. They had coffee, juices, tea, fruit, yogurt, different types of hot foods, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, etc. If you couldn't find anything to eat, then you're too picky! lol.

The towels in the rooms were not very soft or big. I'm not a large person, but the towel barely fit around my body and they weren't the most absorbent. They were fine, but would have appreciated a better towel.

The property is well located, clean and updated.

The staff is unfriendly and unwelcoming. In some cases downright rude. It’s currently 10:18am. Check out is at 11. Housekeeping has been knocking and/or opening our door three times since 9am. Didn’t think it would be an issue to not hang out the do not disturb sign if we are at a normal check out time and only staying 1 night. My son asked how to change the input on the TV and you would’ve thought he asked about quantum physics they were so annoyed. Turns out it requires them to get a remote - which he went down to get - which they said told him to come back later when they went so busy (mind you he had called ahead to let them know he’d be coming down). The wifi is not good, and required a few calls to a main service like to fix (unfortunately that still didn’t work). The facilities are nice, but the staff attitudes need some renovations.
