Wonderful ocean views

I enjoy staying at the Sea Colony but I will not stay at this unit in the future as it was not clean and overall needs some tlc.

Our recent stay was unacceptable… the rental itself was ok...the unacceptable aspect was that we arrived at 4:30 pm and it took until 11:30 that evening for us to get a code that would let us in our room. There was ZERO follow through from Vacasa. We had to contact Sea Colony security 3 different times upon our arrival just to get us in our room. We were very thankful for the prompt Sea Colony security team. It took us calling Vacasa multiple times until we finally got someone who could give us a code at 11:45 pm at night that would work for the rental unit. Took us 7 hours AFTER arriving to get a workable code for the keyless entry which only happened because we had to keep inquiring.

So view, spacious penthouse, equipped kitchen and Sea Colony facilities were all pluses. Beds were comfortable enough. Furnishings adequate. Door lock instructions were opposite and held up entry and cust service was overwhelmed. We had trouble w locks the whole trip. A pair key would be so much better until they get system down. But then the nightmares really begin: my wife has difficulty sleeping with light and the vertical blinds were in complete disarray with strips all over the closet and hidden in the laundry room so only half of them were on in the bedroom and some of them have obviously previously been attempted to be taped by other tenants. The living room had trouble closing and also had a couple of missing pieces. I called immediately as they instructed me to two in report a problem and tell them of my wife’s need and they said that they were overwhelmed and that things were being handled in the order of urgency. We never heard from them again. We did get a note next from housekeeping asking if everything was found to be OK and I gave them a low rating and told them that the master bathroom Sink was clogged and filled up pretty much immediately unless you just left the water on at a trickle. I also told him of the Blinds situation. They profusely apologized and said they would get on it right away and that somebody would be in touch. 24 hours later I wrote them back That we had never heard fm anybody And they said they would make sure the local level responded and we’re again apologetic and appreciated our patience. I thanked them and decided in this case, differently from other vacations that I wasn’t going to ruin my entire week stressing on this and just decided to use the master bathroom with a trickle and to wear blinders for sleeping. This did unfortunately cause or exacerbate a stye in my eye, and gave me a feeling that Vicasa didn’t give a darn about our welfare or our complaints. They were just too busy to really be of any help. I really wondered about ever using them again, or particularly at this location. I rarely complain but when I do the complaints are real. You asked me for my feedback, I hesitated the first few requests, but on this request I decided you know what I’m going to answer.

This top-floor unit has a simply amazing ocean view, and that is saving it from a 2-star review. On the inside, the unit is functional but really needs some TLC. There is a pile of blinds in the master bedroom that have fallen off the runner, and the majority of the balcony furniture is literally held together with duct tape - rendering it both unusable and a hazard, and leaving only two usable chairs for a unit that sleeps six. We ran out of drinking glasses almost every day even though there were only three of us and we ate dinner out. On the flip side, the beds were comfortable (though there were stains on all three bedspreads, as well as both bedroom carpets) and the washer/dryer worked well and had plenty of capacity for beach towels.

Though the place was lovely, the maintenance looked neglected. Missing and burnt light bulbs, Blinds were broken, and panels were lying on the floor.
