This place was outstanding. Set in the heart of the beautiful Gion district, it had a great atmosphere and was wonderful to return home to after a long day exploring. A very comfortable and quiet room which was a good size for a tall family of 4. Comfy beds, but ask for the complimentary extra mattress if using the futons because they are slim. But girls were very comfortable on our six night stay.

One room per floor was nice, small self-contained rooms. Location fantastic. Large rooms, great for family.
Shikibuton was thin and uncomfortable to sleep on as a westerner not use to it. I was keen to try it, but probably should have doubled up as it woke me up during the night with a sore back.

The location was the best! All of the temples, shrines, and historical sites are within short walking distance. The staff is very attentive and wonderful! Our room for four was spacious and clean.
