An excellent central location in Matlock. We found the property exceptionally clean . It had a very well equipped kitchen which was well supplied with all we needed. The games room was fun for children. We loved the sauna We really enjoyed our stay

Some of our party of extended family struggle with stairs so not suitable for very disabled. However there is one room on the ground floor which means no stairs.

Very kind and generous welcome pack. Extremely well positioned for station (6/7 minute walk), close to all amenities that we needed, not a noisy location, parking available close by and at property. Lots to do in the area. Very clean, spacious and the sanitary arrangements, having at least an en-suite WC if not a shower in all the rooms, was wonderful. There was excellent and plentiful prepping, cooking and eating ware, enough for the potential 16 guests and more. Large rooms, a good amount of seating and areas to escape to inside and out. Matlock and surrounds are bustling with plenty to do. We feel we have only scratched a very small surface and will be back.

Key holder needs to be pushed from both sides to open it but unless you have used one before you can’t see this so I wasted a lot of time trying to get into it unsuccessfully however a stranger helped me. Maybe change the code!? Both Sykes Cottages and the owner were easy to contact and would have rescued me…….. kind and helpful. It was very hot and stuffy on arrival. Some windows were difficult or impossible to open. Inadequate instructions around the heating, we eventually found and turned down a thermostat left at 30’. Waste instructions on departure weren’t clear. *Slight smell of gas in the kitchen*.

Such a fabulous property for a large group. So spacious and well equipped. We couldn’t believe the generosity of the facilities.

lovely location, large enough fir 16, everything in house you need
