We had an awesome stay in the “Fisherman’s cottage”. Our host, Liz, was easy to communicate with about bringing a boat and very detail oriented in preparation for our arrival. Lots of surprises in the home as well as stocked necessities. We had such a good time in the community and hope to stay again soon!

This cottage was absolutely amazing there was so much cool art in the home we so enjoyed . And the owners had the best hospitality . The home was clean and we felt so at home . Cannot wait to come back we enjoyed our weekend here it was so much fun.

We have stayed in many Vrbo’s but by far this has been one of my favorites. It is nestled in a cute little neighborhood great for walking and exploring. There is absolutely nothing that you will need while staying here Liz has thought of everything.It is fully equipped more than any place we have stayed. The artwork is amazing just when you think you have seen all of it you find another hidden Treasure. The Fisherman’s Cottage is not a house you want to miss out on it is a true 10. I cannot possibly say enough positive compliments about this cottage and owner. We arrived late and the lights and a/c were on. There were cookies, a card, and fresh eggs in the fridge. Everything, right down to the flatware and towels, are tippy-top shelf. Updated with all the modern conveniences but maintained all the cottage charm and woodwork. Screened porch, front and back. And the wonderfully eclectic decor was so much fun. And no chores before you leave. When you see me next, I will be sure to stay longer, laugh more, and let the tranquility seep into my bones. Absolutely adorable cottage fully equipped with everything you might need and more. Even better than the pictures. The front and back porch are great spots to relax and unwind. Left the car parked all weekend and walked to everything. House is spotless. Liz also is a wonderful host.

This is our second time staying at this property. This cottage is located within walking distance to the shops, restaurants and lake. Great communication with the owners who are always very accommodating and so nice to deal with. They even provided fresh farm eggs for breakfast! The house is kept in an immaculate condition on a lovely street. Looking forward to my next visit and counting the days!

Bought this for my wife's birthday and she was joined by my daughter and daughter in law. They had a blast! Shout out to owner Liz for her help and assistance in making it happen. Highly recommend!

If we could give The Fisherman’s Cottage six stars, we would! Liz and Lee were awesome hosts and clearly take pride in this place. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, the WiFi was terrific, the neighborhood was quiet, and the location was superb. Because we’re digital nomads, we’ve stayed in a variety of places and have been lucky to find mostly comfortable, pleasant locations. Not only is The Fisherman's Cottage comfortable, but it was entertaining - the decorative features often made us smile and lent an uplifting air to our stay. If you’re a walker, you’d be delighted. The neighborhood was very walkable and within easy walking distance of the historical center of Mount Dora, with all its shops and restaurants, as well as parks such as Palm Island Park. It was also close to the lovely local library, grocery stores, and other shops and services. Would definitely stay here again!

We had an extended stay at the beautiful, historic Fisherman’s Cottage near downtown Mt Dora. A superb cottage and cute town! Just a short, safe walk to downtown that is full of shops, restaurants, and bars. Lake Dora is right in the downtown, where you can fish off the pier, or launch you boat. It’s also a great place to watch the sunset. The cottage was exceptionally clean. Liz and Lee think of everything you might need during your stay. Night lights throughout the house. All kitchen appliances and utensils and cleaning supplies. Smart TV in the living room and master bedroom. Plenty of closet space. Washer and dryer with laundry soap. Plenty of bathroom soaps and toiletries. Most of the time, we need to bring all of these items along when we travel, but you'll find everything you need is provided. The front porch is awesome. We spent many nights out there having drinks, reading books, listening to the crickets, and watching the neighbors walk by with their dogs. If you like more privacy, there’s a nice large back porch to sit. Both are screened in. You’ll love the unique artwork throughout the house as it’s a marvel to see. Liz is an extraordinary hostess and communicator. She provided information in advance of our stay and responded to all inquiries quickly. Thanks Liz and Lee for a remarkable, memorable stay.

It was a delightful, newly decorated bungalow, with virtually every amenity you could want or need. The hosts were informative and helpful throughout our stay and the location is just a short walk to main street touring and shopping.

This is my second time staying at the Fishermans’s Cottage in downtown Mt Dora. Such a charming cottage and town! A lovely, short walk to downtown. Full of shops, restaurants, and a park. We spent 3 days exploring downtown…so much to see and the holiday lights made it extra special. The cottage is always super clean, and the hosts think of everything and more!! Thanks for always making our stay special!!

We enjoyed the cottage for our weekend in Mt. Dora. It was perfect, close to everything. We parked our cars and never touched them again until we left on Sunday. We were even able to get in a little early... the cottage was immaculate, clean and the art work was a wonder to see as you walk around the rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay... and I had a great race, as I ran the 1/2 marathon early Sunday morning. There were 2 couples and it was a perfecr size for us. We would highly recommend staying here... Liz was a great host.. love the fresh farm eggs... and the beautiful card she left us. Couldn't have asked for anything more...

I can’t say enough about this cottage, and hosts Liz & Lee’s absolute commitment to making your stay above and beyond what you might expect. First off, the level of cleanliness surpasses anywhere we’ve ever stayed…bar none. I can’t emphasize enough just how spotless and organized this home is, and how well cared for. Liz has anticipated your every need, whether it be toiletries, household supplies, or high end appliances. My son and I share a birthday and we decided on Mt. Dora to celebrate- so glad we picked both the town, and this house. Liz made it an extra special stay with a sweet treat, and made a great dinner recommendation (1921 House) for our birthday dinner. We felt completely at home in Fisherman’s Cottage from the minute we walked in the door, and enjoyed the many pieces of whimsical art scattered throughout the house. As Floridians for the past 8 yrs, we especially got a chuckle out of the swatted mosquito. I’m sure I will forever measure every other rental against the very high bar set by this one. What a perfect rental cottage! Great location and the owner has thought of every little detail. In fact, details extend above and beyond from fun fish flip flops (say that five times fast!) to fresh blue eggs left for our breakfast. The decor is fun, and the cottage is spotlessly clean. We were in town for a short weekend and new to the Mount Dora area. Booked at the Fisherman’s Cottage and it was really great! Awesome communication from the host and they were super accommodating. So much attention to detail and obvious passion for hosting. The cottage was easily walkable to food/shopping. The bedrooms/kitchen/bathrooms were impeccably clean and the main suite had double sinks (important for us!) Would definitely recommend!

I have never felt so comfortable in a rental as I did with this place. It is so quiet and peaceful. Communication with the owners was incredible. We are so looking forward to our next stay at this beautiful home.

Beautifully decorated, extremely well appointed kitchen (even though we didn’t cook), the linens were amazing and the location was minutes to town. We will be back!
