Excellent location, house was very clean and had great amenities! Bring up close to the wild horses was amazing!

We had a fantastic time in the OBX! Even though the weather wasn't very cooperative, the house was stocked with all sorts of fun things to do. We had Dish Network, Netflix, and a TON of DVDs to choose from, as well as a library full of books, board games, puzzles, you name it. The house was clean and beautiful. It was our first time to the OBX, and the seclusion did come with some difficulties (mainly weather-related), so definitely do your research if you're headed here. With all that being said, we definitely plan on coming back, and had a wonderful time. There's also no need to spring for a Horse Tour if you stay here because we had "wild" visitors nearly every day. Such a unique, cool experience we can't wait to do again!

We were switched to this rental after being notified a few weeks prior to check in that there was an issue with our selected rental by the rental company. They immediately refunded and changed everything for us. We could not have asked for a smoother process. Upon arrival, the hot water and hot tub were broken. Hot water was just unplugged and easily fixed when we went searching for possible issue. Hot tub they worked on and got running within a day of us notifying them. Again-anything we needed was immediately attended to by the rental company. House had a great layout that everyone enjoyed being together but spread out. It was right on the beach with amazing views. When rental company/owners checked in mid week, our only suggestion was to have carpets/furniture cleaned. They were not dirty per se but could tell between sand and pets it’s time. The rental is crossing dunes multiple times and 4x4 was required with clearance. Horses were around us all week. Looking forward to coming back.

Salty Sea Era is a beautiful home, and it is away from the busy part of the island. We enjoyed boogie boarding, watching the wild horses, and jumping in the waves. We will definitely return!

This home was everything we could have hoped for and more. Great 4x4 location, extremely well maintained and fully equipped. 30+ years of beach vacations to Sandbridge and now OBX and this was my all time favorite. I hope to be back again next year.
