We had a wonderful stay here. The grounds are so beautiful and the quiet retreat was welcome after having a few busy days in Porto. We enjoyed having the breakfast delivered to our room as it meant we could enjoy at our leisure on the terrace or in the room. There was so much food.

Gorgeous grounds of property. Sweet little rooms with separate lounge area. Welcome wine and pastel de nada made us very happy. Really enjoyed the large games room with table tennis, pool, table footie, then tennis and swimming followed by a cool superbock from on site bar. Breakfast hampers were outstanding….absolutely everything you might fancy and all nice quality. Very pleasant staff made us feel welcome. Nice stroll to local riverside.

A few newer tennis balls maybe, but that’s being picky.

The place, the gardens and the quietness. It is a shame to have amateur owners who care more about the gardens than the clients.

The breakfast is very, very poor, as I was expecting typical treats from Minho region. Instead, only industrial bread, industrial cakes, cheese and ham - nothing else. Also they did not replenish what was missing. We never met the owners/manager, we were never asked if everything was ok, if we needed something, etc. We stayed for 2 weeks, so laundry was an issue as they don't offer any solution for it. We only saw the staff during the mornings, in a hurry to make the beds until noon (!) People are on vacation, we need to rest and enjoy, not to be worried if the room is tidy until noon. There is no a/c or fans in the bedrooms so with temperatures above 36°c it was impossible to sleep. One morning we woke up at 9.00 am as they decided to groom the gardens with, at least, 5 gardeners using machines and lawn cars, incredibly noisy. We had to get up and leave the place as it was unbearable to stay there with the noise. The common rooms are closed during the day and night, and there is no bar or anyplace to order a simple tea or coffee.
