An absolute GEM in the California foothills. The house has been so beautifully decorated, it’s spacious yet cozy, modern but also gives off that charming historic vibe. Great location, walk to town and enjoy all the beauty of downtown Sonora. Love this place and the hosts were great so responsive and so hospitable. You won’t be disappointed.

Close to the main street of this historic town and just a few minute’s drive from everywhere else in town, this typical Sonoran home is a wonderful temporary “home-place” for visitors and returning expatriates alike. The charming old house has been thoroughly and beautifully up-graded within, while keeping its pleasant small town charm. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the dining room spacious, and the living room a perfect place to gather and visit, or settle down with one of the historic books displayed within the house. The weather was too cold for us to use the screened-in north-facing or the west-facing front porches, but we could imagine how lovely they would be in a different season. The owner was wonderful and responsive, and she had help, for the minor lighting issues we had, right in town (so we got to meet her friendly and interesting parents!) The only drawbacks as we saw them were the traffic noise: being easy to find and close to everything also meant we were close to the main road and its steam of cars, and the fig tree in the backyard: too late in the season to enjoy eating the figs, but they were gooey underfoot every time we went to and from the parking place for the car in the back. Despite these minor annoyances, we hope to book this home again the next time we go to Sonora.

Our employees had two great stays at this house. They had everything they needed. Breanna was a good communicator. One of our employees left his iPad at the house and Breanna called right away to make us aware of it. I would recommend this house rental.

The house was absolutely perfect for our girls weekend. It is the cutest little house. We loved it. Could use new patio chair cushions. Great neighborhood, easy walk to downtown where there are neat little shops and were able to attend the farmers market. Thinking of planning another trip and will absolutely stay again here.

A beautiful home, lovingly restored and comfortably furnished. Attention to detail and great location. The host was very responsive to a need that was presented and completely satisfied our needs. I would love to come for another getaway with friends to explore more of the community.

We had a wonderful stay! Location is great and close to the Main Street. We only needed to walk about 5-10 minutes. Home was clean and beautifully decorated. We were able to cook but we did need to buy cooking oil, so come prepared. Overall, would recommend this home and love to visit again.

This was our second time staying at this property and we just love this house. The covered front and side porches are such a highlight, along with the walkability to downtown. The host is wonderful and easy to communicate with and gave us lots of local recommendations. Sonora is also just lovely!

We stayed here 3 nights for a wedding in Sonora. The house was beautiful, comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. If we ever get back to Sonora we will stay here again for sure!

Beautiful older house. Comfortable bed off kitchen. Lots of traffic in front of house all day and night. House could use some blockout shades to block sunlight and traffic car lights. Home owner required that we put all used towels in hamper, wanted sheets stripped on all beds used. We did have to clean some kitchen items before using. Carpet in living room had food from previous stay. Yard was a disaster, couldn’t use outdoor furniture because yard wasover run with weeds.

Beautifully restored home just a few blocks from downtown Sonora
We stayed here 3 nights for a wedding in Sonora. The house was beautiful, comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. If we ever get back to Sonora we will stay here again for sure!

Wow! This did not disappoint. It is pretty rare when you come across a rental property that actual looks better in person than the photos. The home is absolutely beautiful. The detail that Breanna spent making it feel cozy and inviting, with modern amenities all while keeping its early 1900’s charm, is honestly a work of art. Not only is the home lovely, but Breanna was prompt and professional with her responses.
On another note, the proximity to downtown cannot be beat! We walked 3 different times to try restaurants and shop around. We left feeling like our trip was unfinished and absolutely want to return to try out some of the recommendations given in Breannas’ informational guest book.
We can’t wait to come back and the Bauman House will be our go to place!

Gorgeous home walkable to downtown!
We had a wonderful stay at the Bauman House. The house was clean and decorated so nicely, beds really cozy, and the hospitality superb! So many nice little touches throughout. We loved hanging out on the porch and the ability to easily walk downtown for a coffee or dinner.
For anyone who needs a very dark room at night - bring an eye mask as the rooms do not have blackout curtains and it is on a busier street. We brought our kids' noise machines and they slept just fine! We highly recommend staying here, you'll love it!

We had a great Thanksgiving week stay in this charming home. The home was walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in downtwon historic Sonora. We loved all of the Christmas decorations and the Christmas parade. We also saw shows at Sierra Reperatory Theatre. We wished we could have stayed longer!

We had a great Thanksgiving week stay in this charming home. The home was walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in downtwon historic Sonora. The owners thought of everything for this beautifully decorated home! Very comfortable and clean. Loved the location because it is right at the beginning of the town main street, so can easily walk to shops and restaurants. I will note though, please be careful crossing streets as there were a lot of cars and they were going very fast turning into the side streets off the main road. Overall a great stay!!!

Finding a rental whose host cares about their property and their guests experience is a rare find. When I return to Sonora, this is the place I would book again. We did have one incident immediately upon check-in with some misplaced sheets & towels, but with 1 phone call, the problem was rectified instantly by Breanna and Shannon. They were friendly, apologetic, understanding and easy to talk to, that I have to give this place 5/5 simply for the customer service and handling of the situation. Putting that aside, the house is beautiful; the decoration and furniture were both comfortable and appealing. Anyone who visits this town is sure to have a lovely stay at the Bauman House.
