The Runmere Hotel, Liverpool South Runcorn, Part of the AG Collection

My mum was greeted with friendly kind staff who helped her with her bags and made her a cuppa. She had had a long and difficult journey and was tired. She was early but the room was ready. I cant thank them enough for the kindness they showed her. She had a restful night and quiet night. It was near the train station.

Good Value, helpful staff, brilliant location as just opposite train station.

Location next to rail station, easy walk to town along the canal. Staff were welcoming and polite. Free coffee was very welcome.

Definitely showing its age and in need of refurbishment, rooms quite small and furniture is dated and in need of replacement, tiles in bathroom need a good scrub. Walls are very thin. Be warned it is on the flight path for the airport so can be noisy with low flying air traffic. Multi level Motel style building won't suit everyone as stairs are quite steep (no lift) with unusually high handrails, outdoor corridor matting was quite slippery in places as it had rained, although to be fair there are warning notices. Disappointing that despite menus being everywhere there was only pizza available which meant we had to eat elsewhere (there was a discount voucher in the room which made it look an attractive offer but wasn't to be). I would consider staying again if coming by train due to the location but would have to be at a very good price, it was just about value for money if you don't mind a slightly lower standard of room.

I like the fact that there was a balcony outside my room. I liked that it felt like your own space
