Spacious property in central Rye. Lovely garden to sit and relax. Parking is a bonus. Welcome pack was very useful.

Mattress in the main bedroom needs replacing

+ perfect location right in the center of Rye + very nice welcome package (milk, bread, cereals etc) + excellent and easy free private parking (even for a large SUV) + fair pricing + very nice secluded garden patio + uncomplicated check-in instructions

I hate to leave negative reviews but in this case it may be important for other guests, as the biggest issue with this property is cleanliness (which has been mentioned before by other guests). - both sofas in the downstairs living room had an unbearable smell that literally made the whole room completely unusebale. These sofas smell like a mixture of wet dog, dirty socks and - sorry to say - fresh vomit. They are also stained beyond anything I've ever seen in a property for this price. No chance to sit on them and watch TV. During our stay we washed our clothes in the washing machine, hung them up to dry in this "sofa room", only to notice in our next holiday home that we needed to wash them all again "to get rid of the Rye smell" (as our son put it). - all three kitchen chairs (for potential four guests btw) are stained to an extent that you don't want to sit on them - the glasses in the kitchen cupboard still had lipstick remains on them – When entering the property, our son took off his shoes (as you do). At the end of the day, his white socks had turned to brown on the soles - the bathroom upstairs has obviously designed by Monty Python: You will have to decide on water pressure AND temperature BEFORE entering the shower (and vice versa). - And you should mind: Check-in is exactly not one (!) minute earlier than booked (which has been made very clear by the host after trying to phone them if we could get into the apartment just one hour earlier. I wonder what the cleaning team did between 10am and 4pm, which are strict times to enter and leave the property All in all: It's a real shame that this beautiful (potentially 10-star-rating) property is obviously left on its own to unknowing tourists. All it would take are two new IKEA sofas and a VERY deep clean to the kitchen and living room.
