Deer hostel

The price was very reasonable for my length of stay. While I could not see myself using the Deer Hostel for longer than a few days, I had absolutely no issue with using it for an overnight stay in Nara.

The bathrooms are very small. I appreciate that the nature of the hostel makes space a premium, but the shower facilities were almost uncomfortable for a person of my stature to use.

I like the location of the property, it is just a walking distance to the Nara Park.

The hostel is set up more like a home than your average hostel. The living spaces and kitchen had all of your usual house hold utilities and all were accessible. I contacted the property before arriving that I would be arriving late and they ensured me a room that would accommodate not just myself but other people staying as well. They were very kind and understanding and clearly care for the experience of those who choose to stay with them. On my way out there was also a mother deer and baby deer just hanging out so that's when you know you're truly in Nara.

I didn't dislike anything. The only thing I would make note of is that the bathrooms are VERY small but as a solo traveler, it's just part of the experience. Everything was still clean and useable.

The seamless check in and good communication.

The cleanliness of the bathrooms was less than ideal.
