We have enjoyed many long weekends at The Great Escape. It is a wonderful get-away - clean, dog-friendly, well-equipped, super comfortable, and close to many excellent hiking trails. Don and Lina are great hosts who make sure their guests have everything they need to enjoy a peaceful time in the mountains. We look forward to returning again.

This is a lovely place to stay. Gorgeous views. The home has everything you would need and very nice quality. The host was very responsive and very kind when our original dates didn’t work out last minute. Would love to stay again.

my daughter and i and her dog had a very relaxing stay at the great escape. The house was spotless, the beds very comfy and the kitchen well equipped. The fenced in backyard was great for our pup since he tends to run away. All in all a delightful stay.

Location was great for visiting the area of Shenandoah. The cabin was comfortable, well stocked and relaxing. A comforting home atmosphere added to our enjoyment as it was obvious that Don and Lina had put in a lot of effort to make you feel welcomed. We would definitely stay again.

I can't say enough good things about this VRBO. The property is very clean and well maintained. The cabin is modern yet rustic and has everything to make your stay comfortable. If you want to cook for yourself you have everything that you need for cookware, serving ware and cutlery. The beds are very comfortable as are the rest of the furnishings. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the property. The location is convenient to the Park and other attractions. The Luray Caverns were absolutely amazing (I have a geology background). The owners were so helpful and responsive. As soon as we reserved the property they sent us extensive information on the cabin, attractions and businesses in the area. We were able to research our trip and took in some of the attractions that we would not have been aware of including Monticello and Montpelier (Jefferson's and Madison's homes). We had a great stay. Beautiful, clean, well appointed cabin. Safe area, fenced yard and a hot tub!!!! What more can you ask for. It was very nice that both bedrooms had comfy king beds. No one felt like they got the short end of the stick of bedroom picks. It was also great to have a working fireplace even though it was not cold enough for us to feel the need to use. We were so happy our well behaved dogs were welcome and it shows that the owners are definitely animal lovers. We will come back again:)

Great Escape Cabin is in a nice quiet location and it was very peaceful to sit outside and listen to nature. The king size bed was very comfortable with cozy bedding. Everything we needed was available at the cabin. The hosts were very easy to get in touch with and very quick to respond. Thanks for s great escape!

Beautiful property and very clean! In close proximity to Shenandoah National Park and between two towns with restaurants and stores. Would definitely recommend it and go there again.

Location and priory were just what we wanted. Nice and relaxing, quiet and comfortable. Will look at staying there again.

My friends and I travel a few times a year to a new National Park. This year it was the Shenandoah NP. There were just two of us this time and we chose to get this house namely because we would each have our own bathroom and bedroom! We were also looking for a full kitchen because we wanted to prepare our sack lunches for the hikes and our own dinners when we got in for the day. We absolutely LOVED this house!! It's in a quiet and quaint neighborhood. The drive to the park is anywhere from 20-40 minutes depending on which hiking trail you are choosing. No matter how long the drive is though all of the scenery is beautiful. The house itself is very clean. As mentioned there are two bathrooms and two bedrooms and each have ample closet and dresser space to unpack. The beds are both king size and very comfortable. They have a W/D to clean your clothes and they supply the detergent. The kitchen itself has everything you could need. However, if you want to make something with specific spices or oils then bring your own. The owners give you a list of things to do and areas to eat in the neighborhood. We had the best time here! We definitely want to come back in the Fall one year and we only want to stay at this house. This has been my favorite VRBO house ever. I can't recommend it enough!

The cabin was awesome, it was very clean and perfect for our stay. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The fenced in backyard was perfect for dogs and the hot tub was nice. There was plenty of parking and the house was very easy to find. It was near a lot of hiking trails and fishing spots, we would definitely rebook if we come back to the area!

First impression: this cabin is super clean and smells great. Nice, modestly appointed cabin. Located in a quiet neighborhod within 25 minutes of Luray. Closer restaurant options available. Great for 2 to 4 adults. Comfortable bed and pillows. Loved the hot tub. Hosts are friendly and quick responders to questions. We enjoyed our stay. Only additional info Id give to future renters. Take your hair dryer along. House has everything else.

This cabin is about 40 minutes from JMU. It was perfect for us when we moved our daughter into grad school. It is located close to many great hiking trails. The cabin is just as described and more. It is extremely neat and clean as well as nicely stocked for kitchen items. The process was so easy from booking, check-in, and check-out. We will stay again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin is perfect! Super clean and great for two or four. A very quiet neighborhood with little traffic, great back yard, and the hot tub was perfect. We spent most of our time sight seeing and relaxing afterwards on the back porch. We highly recommend this property for a nice get away. We will be back! We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. We were impressed by how well prepared you had the cabin for us. We have rented cabins before and stayed in hotels, this was by far a great property. We loved the layout of the cabin and the yard also. I think the best time we had was in the early morning sitting out on the front porch drinking our coffee and being greeted by almost complete silence. WOW! The biggest thing, I had to do was keep track of the rabbit going from one bush to another. Where we live there is always background noise. I bet it is also beautiful in the fall with all the colors. We will be trying to make it out there again. Wonderful trip.

We had a great time at the Great Escape Cabin, which allowed us to disconnect from the world and enjoy you each other. We enjoyed the mountainous views and taking in Luray Cavern.

The cabin had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We prefer a king bed. We only needed one, but this place has two bedrooms with king beds. Very unusual and nice if 2 couples are traveling together. The half mile trail down to Catherine’sFurnscd is across the street. A nice walk.

Relaxing, cozy, quiet. Exactly what we wanted! Plenty of room inside and outside for our son to play. We will definitely stay here again.

Our stay was amazing. This cabin is so relaxing. One day we just slept all day. We needed the rest. Most of our time was spent on the deck. We cooked every night. The kitchen is well equipped. It was a pleasure working with Don and his thoroughness in sending info about what the cabin had, directions, how to get into the cabin as well as other info on the area . The cabin is immaculate and they provide unexpected items, such as tissue boxes, bathroom cups, liquid soap dispenser and much more. The bed was very comfortable. Don responds right away to text messages. The cabin is very peaceful and in a quiet neighborhood where homes are well spaced apart. The cabin is located close to Luray Caverns, Shenandoha National Park, and Skyline Drive. It was very welcoming to come back to the cabin after our day's adventure. We hope to be able to return another time.

We stayed here for my sons graduation from JMU. It was not close but not terribly far away either. It was beautifully decorated & very clean. Loved that it had a fenced yard for our dog. Would stay again for sure

I spent the week here with my two pups. Having a fully fenced nice sized yard was fantastic. Being able to relax in the hot tub while the dogs explored the yard was great. The cabin was very well taken care of and a great location.

Property was lovely. Well stocked and very pet friendly. Great hikes close by and nice drive to Skyline Drive. Would definitely rebook!
