Château du Pont d'Oye

We have stayed here several times and it is always a pleasure for both humans and dogs. A beautiful place and peaceful location, despite being only 10 minutes from the north/south motorway. The rooms are spacious and the sitting room with log fire is welcoming. There is lots on offer in the self service breakfast and the dining room is really pretty.

We have liked everything. This castle has kept its historical character with a.o. 4 pleasantly maintained burning open fires giving these amazing atmosphere and ambiance where you can read your book or newspaper in the sofa next to the wood fire. Very kind staff. Very nice walks in the forest surrounding the castle/hotel. Great rooms and large and comfortable beds. Pleasantly quiet rooms as well.

A print of my credit card was required when checking in, which I refused. It goes against the spirit of the place and goes against the home ambiance that all the rest tempts to create. The breakfast is very good but the cheese offered are cheap and with no taste /savour while the region has so much to offer of cheese delicacies to discover...

Beautiful property, super clean and comfortable room, great honesty bar and access to fridge.

We arrived later so couldn’t use EV charger overnight (you have to get there before 8.30pm) which impacted on our plans the following day - think good to communicate that in advance with guests.

Rooms clean and spacious. Lovely historic chateau.

More furniture in the room and bathroom. ie. a table in the bathroom next to sink for toilet bags etc. Chairs would have been nice in the room as it was a spacious room. A kettle and tea/coffee facilities in the room for that early morning cuppa. A shelf for the cases would have been nice. Lack of choice at breakfast and cooked meats had flies on them. There was no explanation from the staff as to where the cutlery or bins were and no identification labels on breakfast items. The Chateau, although lovely and picturesque is far from eating places. Don't arrive on a Monday night as the restaurant that is close by is closed. Transport is then required to find the nearest restaurant which is also very difficult as most were closed on a Monday night.
