Thomasha Homestay & Tuk Tuk Tour

Wellawaya was unexpectedly one of my favourite stops in Sri Lanka and partly definitely because of Thomasha and his lovely family. I extended three or four times and he truly puts the home in homestay, from picking me up and dropping me into the village free of charge to getting me local bargains on fruit and letting me use their personal kitchen, from bringing me free fruit plates to my room and offering me to join their family dinner as well as showing me famous as well as local waterfalls where I was the only one for the entire day! He made sure I arrived safe and texted me prior to my arrival, would check on me whenever I was gone too long on my own, and made sure I always got on the right busses and off at the right stops. I have never felt more at home anywhere else in Sri Lanka, he made sure I know I can rely on him whenever needed and it felt very cozy staying there, also thanks to his wife's amazing cooking! Lovely stay for anyone, especially solo female travellers!

I didn't mind at all to be fair but there is no AC so the room can get very hot during the day, they do have a fan though!

The host's English and information was great, I could visit the local waterfall without a guide thanks to his clear information. He also helped me frequently with his tuk tuk.
